I got shut out of Chicago completely.  The first presale there was just nothing.  The second presale was a shitshow of software related issues.  The general on sale something came up at work and by the time I was able to log on pretty much only the gallery was left.

If anybody has extras for any of the nights please message me.  Even if you had intended to put them on StubHub, there is no judgment here.  I will pay you extra and we can both save the ridiculous StubHub fees.

I hear you man. This band has been my favorite for almost 20 years, but the ticket buying process has really rubbed me the wrong way, especially this round. Between the confusing, multiple pre-sales (the Thursday morning venue one wasn't even on my radar 'til it was too late) to the bots scooping up a bunch of the tickets (which are already plastered all over the ticket sites for multiple hundreds of dollars) to the "VIP Packages" where you have to buy a backpack and ear plugs in order secure a better ticket?? Come on, dude. I'm sorry, but how dumb. So, my wife and I have to get 2 goddamn backpacks and pay $400 to get a spot anywhere near the stage? I'm a fairly massive fan, but wasn't able to get anything in the lower level for any of the 3 Chicago nights, despite trying at all the pre-sales. It just doesn't sit right with me. Anyway, hate to be a downer. I still got some balcony tickets and will have a good time.

I feel your pain folks.  I've heard stories from various people about having the same sort of issues with other bands like Dead & Co. and others.  It disgusts me that tickets appeared immediately on places like StubHub and frankly my thinking is I would rather pay VIP prices through normal channels and get what I want rather than supporting scalpers, even if it comes with a bunch of bling that I could care less about.  Betsy works in a school so backpacks are easy to get rid of.  :cheesy:

The best ticket purchasing setup ever was Grateful Dead mail order back in the day, and they even sent fun glittery tickets!  I really wish there was a similar 21st setup that could help filter out the noise.  We had good friends that got their (and our) Dead & Co. tickets by going to a physical TicketMaster outlet where they printed tickets just like the old days and it worked out great.

Keep looking is my suggestion because you never know what will pop up.  Good luck!

Yep, Grateful Dead mail order was the best, I always got tix for every show I tried for. I believe Pearl Jam still has their decades long running fan club for getting tix to the dedicated fans with priority given to members with the most seniority.  Before Jacket axed their fan club a few years ago, it was at least a way to not get completely shut out. Last time they played Red Rocks I couldn't get even a single ticket in the worst row of the venue and I tried all the presales and on-sales.  It is discouraging and disappointing.

Right there with you two on the Grateful Dead mail order tix. Still remember vividly getting those postal money orders and index cards filled out with what shows we were looking to get tix for, and making sure we mailed them out first thing on the days they could be postmarked.

Then when they arrived it was so cool seeing those beautiful tickets. Each show different artwork and color. I don't think we were ever shut out when we did their mail order presales and man do I miss that process and the MMJ Roll Call presales too. It's a different game altogether now, and not just for Jacket tix.

PJ does a lottery now for each show open to all members. Seniority only matters for seat location.

Yeah... I dont understand it.  If you want to charge extra for those seats just charge extra.  No one wants the corny ass backback or really anything else in that package.  I laughed when i saw the offer because i didnt think it would be that hard to get orchestra seats.

Oh well.  Ill put my faith in the people or vibes or whatever.  The tickets will present themselves its not worth getting upset over.

I don't know I am pretty excited for the backpack myself. I never use earplugs so those are kind of eh.

I wonder if/hope the signed poster will be the same as the venue poster. I was pretty disappointed with the Broomfield posters we got vs the ones that were sold. I blindly assumed they were the same and didn't go to the merch stand. I would have bought the Guy Burwells had I checked.

I also wonder what the travel package merch that comes with the hotel package will be. The scarves in Broomfield were super sick.

Tickets have been on sale to the general public for a week now and I have to say I'm surprised only three of the shows are sold out, and I'm shocked that none of the east coast shows are on the sold out list especially Forrest Hills.  Do you suppose it's mostly because of the Brittney Howard co-bill, or maybe Covid-19 paranoia?

I dont think casuals realize Brittany is co headlining (is she actually??).  If anything, her presence should boost sales since shes way more of a draw than usual jacket openers.

I think the biggest factor is that a band like Jacket just isnt going to gain many younger fans from here on out unless there is a rock revival.  Its all rap and computer produced music now.  So we're all getting old and other life events are becoming more important.  The herd is beginning to dwindle.

Chicago is the obvious destination event this tour, so everyone is gunning for it.  Plus its one if the worst scalper markets in the country.

i'd guess this is due the flood of tours and festies announced in the last month. or at least a significant part of it is.

Those east coast shows are in huge venues for mmj to play. Birmingham is sold out but it's 1/5 the size of the Atlanta venue. I'd also say based on my experience over the past week casual mmj fans aren't gonna pay $100 to see them.

chieftokenpuff6

That Charlotte venue never sells out when they play there. I think in the past it sold out the day of the show.

I don't think MMJ sold out their last 1-night show at Forest Hills, I was pretty shocked that they went for a 2-nighter there.

Cameron

There was definitely plenty of room up near the top.
