I just stumbled across the fact that My Morning Jacket is the musical guest tonight on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Enjoy!
The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

Thanks! Loved it live. It added a lot to it as always.

Kimmel is an unwatchable hack.
What a shill for corporate big pharma and woke-ism.

My Morning Jacket aren't doing themselves much by going on these legacy tonight shows....nobody watches them anymore or discovers new music through them as much as they did in our day (I discovered MMJ from Conan!!!).
They should do some podcasts and do some songs live on there...like Jim and Theo Vonn would be hilarious...Jim on Rogan or Olbermann.

Time Waited is growing on me.
Still think the piano sample doesn't fit at all and sounds really.....out of place.
That said, if this song is any indication of the renewed attention to songwriting detail.

Never ceases to amaze me that people can follow MMJ and its members so closely, then say something so ignorant like suggesting Jim James would ever come close to associating with Joe Rogan. Using 'woke-ism' as an insult... someone get Elon outta this forum.
If you don't know yourself, how could you ever know me?

hilarious...

There must be enough of an audience for them to keep renewing the late night shows otherwise they would move to something else.  Shows end all the time for this reason....

JohnnYYacc what up dude! You are a LEGEND hope all is well
Here it is, in its entirety, our cover of ELO's Telephone Line

Ugh...   Lonn, I appreciate your posts when they include love and insight on the band that we all go crazy for - but this is pure garbage. I've recorded Kimmel, Colbert, Fallon, and Myers for years and watch all of the monologues and all music guests every, single, day after their airing. I still get a lot of new music from them. I would also say all are still extremely relevant to the folks that haven't been swept up in the biggest con job the world has ever seen. If you don't want political stuff in the forum, don't post incoherent garbage. This band stands for love and respect - both things that are AT BEST disregarded by this administration. Gotta read the room a bit and understand most folks here agree with the political sentiments of the band.

Well said Lucius.

That's the problem, you guys are extremely politically tribal. ONLY WHEN I AGREE WITH YOU 100% ARE YOU AN OK PERSON!!!
How stupid is that???
No way to live.
Why are so many obsessed with these figureheads??? 🤣🤣🤣 they've become leftist versions of Mitt Romney 🤣🤣🤣🤣
To the point that someone like Joe Rogan being brought up makes ya think I'm some Trump loyalist ???   I didn't vote for Trump.
I literally mentioned Keith Olbermann, but no I guess I've failed the purity test.
That's fine, I know I'm hated by the Jacket fan community for not falling in line.....but almost every time I've been attacked for an opinion, that opinion has been validated by time.
For one example, I said the band should reinvent Wordless Chorus or drop it. People wanted to kill me....look what happened tho.

The woke political agenda has ruined this country and put Trump back in the White House.

My point is the band should take their vibrations to other platforms. I don't know why that's so triggering?

It's actually really antithetical to liberalism how anti- other opinions or lifestyles or viewpoints extreme woke liberals have become. I grew up only finding that quality in conservatives....
It's unreal how that flipped.
Once again, i am a liberal. I'm just saying why do we have to agree with every person's politics to love a band or even the band members' specific beliefs? If you think all 5 MMJ members think in line on everything, you're wrong.
I don't get triggered by your beliefs, but you're definitely triggered by mine 🤣🤣 ok...

BTW "read the room" means CONFORM CONFORM CONFORM. I find that shocking but that's what liberalism has become.
Anyone who's even read anything I've written let alone has met me knows I'm far from what would be called conservative...

Like come on, Jimmy Kimmel used to practice more blackface than Al Jolson, who are we defending???

😂😂 everything i said made sense, whether you agree or not.

But sadly people would rather shadow me with hate than love for absolutely zero reason other than disagreeing with a political opinion I don't even have but commented on

It's ok. Love to all, even if you hate me, that's not going to hurt me or make me hate you or hate the band.
You can't get rid of me.

I don't reckon anyone here hates you or wants to get rid of you, but anytime ANYBODY goes on a long political rant and endorses Joe Rogan, that's gonna seem really out of place in the MMJ sphere.
If you don't know yourself, how could you ever know me?

Good discussion from everyone.
I don't think it's out of place at all.  I'm part of the MMJ sphere too.

Just seems off that if this band, and this MMJ sphere, is truly about love and inclusion, being criticized for mentioning "Joe Rogan" doesn't seem to fit the professed philosophy.  Rogan isn't even political, he's a self promoter with a huge following.  I would guess a large majority of his audience has never heard of MMJ, unlike the Kimmel-Colbert-Fallon watchers.

My take is that was the point of his comment.  Glad you wrote it Lonn, a good observation in support of the band we all love.  Expanding the audience for the band, shaking up a possibly outdated media marketing plan. Seems the majority of responses and reactions have been political, and a bit presumptuous about what the band or all the rest of the folks on here think is appropriate.

Cameron

I assume a lot of his audience hasn't heard of MMJ either and I would guess the band is fine with that.

Pineapple

Joe Rogan is a right wing nut job who told people that horse dewormer would cure Covid, among other lies. Fuck that guy.
If you don't know yourself, how could you ever know me?

Cameron

I don't know how you can say he's not political when he was front and center at the inauguration and he and his family spend time at mar a lago.

Of course MPP gets it.
Cheers brother.

BTW, the horse dewormer you keep ripping on and the media ripped on was proven correct by the way, Ivermectin works.
It's the same kind of hatred towards people who are vaccine skeptics, now they're labeled anti-vaccine and "we have no use for this rebel scum!"

My whole point is nobody should feel like they're not apart of The My Morning Jacket community or fanbase and be excluded because of their political or religious beliefs, meanwhile I just saw comments from about 10 folks saying "hey if the band is liberal, and you're not, YOU PICKED THE WRONG BAND, HIT THE ROAD! THEY AREN'T FOR YOU! THEIR MESSAGE OF INCLUSION & LOVE IS LOST ON YOU TRUMPER!"
Which is funny that we're saying we wanna be about inclusion politically while you're excluding others because they don't agree with you on every single thing 😁😁😁 that's logic origami...

My point is....would Jim tell a MAGA hat wearing Trump guy to leave his audience?
No.
Would Jim chastise him before the crowd?
No.
If anything, he'd talk to him and debate him possibly of something like that. Or just look at him like he's a fan and that's it.

As for the band needing to spread its wings to other media outlets and markets, that's been a major missed opportunity for years.
They really have missed some major bucks and tons of new fans if they'd tried podcast interviews and playing live on podcasts etc earlier. There's still a chance for that.
Just take the gospel of the Jacket everywhere.
MPP, thank you for your courage to not willingly misunderstand my every remark and twist it as a political attack against everyone,
And thank you for reading all of this.
