Oh lord - to anyone who just saw what I posted, I blame the bourbon followers, for Makers Mark has made me much too silly this evening.

I think they should tour with Mr. Heinl again.  I loved him.

loper

NO ONE!!!!!!!!!

I know it would be hard work for Jim, but what about a solo acoustic set followed by the ghetto blasting full band!?????

sweatboard

I know it will never happen but I would love to see a solo tour similar to the M. Ward, Bright Eyes and Jim James but have Jim James, Chan Marshall, and Eddie Vedder.  I think Eddie and Jim could do some awesome harmonizing.  Eddie's voice is really low and Jim's is really high.  It may sound far fetched but Eddie was on the last Cat Power record and M. Ward and Chan are really good friends and Jim and M. Ward are real good friends.  Ok this would be the best tour of all time,

Eddie Vedder
Neil Young
Jim James
M. Ward
Chan Marshall

The Words and Guitar Tour!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like the idea of a solo Jimmy show.  How about throwing in Bob Pollard and Bob Mould as opposed to M.Ward and Bright Eyes.  By the way, can that guy get any more press....it's like re-living the Ryan Adams hoopla. In terms of bands I like the thought of Kings of Leon who I will be seeing on the 26th. Richmond Fontaine would be great. Another would be The Killers.

peanut butter puddin surprise

-Pine Club

-The Black Keys

-Beta Band

-BRMC

-Cash Brothers

-Those Bastard Souls

-Sun Kil Moon

-massive garage shout out with The Hives, The Strokes, White Stripes, Mooney Suzuki, and all those other garage bands you love to hate to love

'tis a hard one to call.  on one hand, you want to see new music and get to know new bands...on the other, you want a balanced show.

Runnin' from somethin' that isn't there

M. Ward: He has a new album coming up
Black Keys for us primal blues lovers! Jim and Dan (from The Black Keys) could jam together on No Fun by The Stooges, The Keys' regular set closer! How cool would that be...
Will Johnson/Centromatic
Phoenix
Jeff Tweedy
Neil Young & Crazy Horse: + Jim James on Lotta love, or Out On The Weekend!

Would all be mighty fine by me

what in the hell is this Phoenix crap I keep hearing on my internet radio station?  Do you really like it, or am hearing a song that does not give this band  justice. Anyways, the song is quite annoying, and I would be appaled if I had to hear them in the same building as fine musicians as MMJ.  Anyone?
Bands I would like:
Black Crowes? did they not breakup and start solo bands?
Not a big fan of all this solo stuff, let's keep the band together, the way it has been for a bit.  Jim had plenty of his own touring this past year, I think it is time to record an album and tour with the rest of this incredible group of rockers.  We are all in need of a GOOD GODDAM rock show!  Hurry up mother f-ers!  Hurry!  These bands out here all suck.  Hurry.

corey

The Black Crowes are reuniting for a few shows before they decide if they want to do a full-scale tour next later this year. I'd like to see 'em.

As for the Killers, they can suck my left nut. I hate that fucking song that's on the radio all the time. I threw up a little bit when one of my friends said that she liked them. Blech.

Lucero

Hnads down would be a great opener for MMJ. Has both the great upbeat fun songs and the ballads that would work with the MMJ style. I think both bands could pick up alot of fans.

Sal Paradise

Devendra Banhart should open.

Or maybe a collaberation with Bjork  :o
The sound in your mind is the first sound that you could sing

The Boar

Wow, I love the Beck idea. He is such a genius, IMHO, and the perfect complement to their mood. That would definitely create some exposure for the boys.

EC

Weird.  Honest Man is just ending, and I just thought "Wow, that sounds like Beck."

I agree, "Coplement thier mood" is a great way to put it.  I also think they both have a similar sense of humor.  I think Beck and Jim would really like each other.  I know I would love to see them tour together.

I also really like the Wilco/Jacket tour idea!

Lucero sounds intriguing too. also i forgot to mention Calexico in my original post!

Phoenix has some nice poppy singles, like Too Young, or If I Ever Feel Better. Think it would be a relaxing opening for the real MMJ-madness! Don't know the rest of their music though, won't be great probably...

And what about these
Grandaddy: duet on He's Simple, He's Dumb, He's The Pilot, imagine that, Jim singing the 'did you love this world, and did this world not love you' part... Sounds cool.

And for a full-blown rock-show

Steve Wynn and The Miracle Three
Rolling Stones, would be great in little clubs!
