Congratulations!  You have been selected to hold a listening party for the band's newest release "Z"!!  Thank you for your quick and heartfelt response.   So you are probably wondering how you can get this shindig off the ground.  It's pretty simple- contact me to let me know your exact mailing address, where you are holding the listening party and any other info you can give me regarding the event you have planned.  I also need to know your shirt size within 2 sizes so I can get you a cool shirt to wear!  I will also send you all the ingredients for a great listening party- stickers, url cards, posters to put up and of course, the most important piece- a copy of the new album "Z" which is in stores on October 4th!  The parties are to be held between September 25th and the release of the album, so this gives you plenty of time to really go out there and spread the word about the Jacket!  As there may be other people in your hometown who we were not able to hook up with a party, would you be interested in perhaps inviting them too?  No pressure, just thought we'd make an effort to extend the good will to those who weren't able to host a party."

Thanks again for all your support!

I should mention that I'm a little jealous of these parties that people get to have.

Did anybody win in Toronto?

Ah Poo Poo! I got a negative email today! Nevermind - enjoy your parties.  :)
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

not it!

Yeah, who in the Louisville is hosting the party? I would love to do it if nobody else does it in Louisville isn't. It could be an official or an un-official event.Of course for me it would have to be on a weekend.I have to get up way too early for work to do anything during the week.

I would assume that Connaway is doing one in da Ville since the e-mails came from him. My guess is that he's organizing the whole she-bang, but I could be wrong in that.

Hi slaa, there are a few places that I can think of that are VERY MMJ friendly (ie the play entire records, sometimes two or three in a row)
1.  Brass Taps on College at Dovercourt (the dudes seriously love MMJ)

2.  The Roxton on Harbord at Roxton (I don't think I've ever gone there and not heard My Morning Jacket at least once.  I've been there a few times.  It's a little more fancy than The Brass Taps, but still has a good drink list and their prices are nice.  I like this place.  It's also a good place for a date.  :))

3.  Squirrely's on Queen close to Songbird and Gypsy Co-op, West of Bathurst (They always play good music, and a couple of times if I've just bought a new cd, they'll play it so I can hear it.  Plus they have Knob Creek.)

I thought there was a fourth in my head...  Anyhow, those would be my ideas.  I don't really have any ins with them, but I know them to be good peeps.

Oh yeah, damn, there was a fourth:  Graffiti's, which is a great bar in Kensington Market.  Steve's the guy to talk to there, and he likes good music.  And I think I remember talking to him about MMJ once.  He also promised me he'd order Knob Creek, so...  So that might be a really fun place, actually.  Except that I don't know if he opens unless he's got a player.  But he might do for a "listening party".

:)

You can pm me if you want.
