I would really like to see a DVD that captures the live proformance of MMJ. This has been a big money maker for WSP and others. Anyone know of any plans.

sideroad32

no but it should be done.
MMJ is a LIVE band and should be seen as such by the world... on DVD

also if they packaged a dvd w/ cd might increase sales of actual cd instead of just downloads

keep wishin that 'Return To Thunderdome' would be released as a DVD with that super surround sound 5.1 swooshing and whirring aroun the house.

I'd love a couple MMJ DVD's... throw in some behind the scenes / backstage stuff, too.

does anyone remember that little behind the scenes video that used to be on this website? that was so cool to watch, especially when i was first discovering the band. i would like to see something like that again, of course updated with new members.  :)

Is that the one with like 4-5 tunes where they show them recording in the barn, and show scenes with the bear? I got a copy of the DVD free when I bought It still moves at a show.
But seein you feels good, and its always understood.

Yeah, I loved that.

The drive by truckers put out a live show video from two nights last august at the 40-Watt down in athens, ga.  It's real good.  I don't see why the jacket couldn't pull off the same thing.  After all they are on a major label--whereas the truckers are on new west (which is still pretty big in there own right).  The market should be there for such a vid.

The one that finised up with Phone Went West? Man I don't know how many times I watched that! Totally blew me away!!! A DVD makes complete sense. The later the band leaves it the harder it will be for them to choose the tracks...
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

I've watched that DVD at least 40 times since I got it.  I think something like the DBT DVD would be awesome but maybe with a few more behind the scenes or interviews thrown in.

BTW, New West is my favorite record company and if anyone from there is reading please give me a job at your office here in Austin! :)

The DBT DVD was good, but honestly I didn't think it captured the aura of what it is to be at a DBT show...maybe if they included a 6-er of PBR with the DVD, that would help.   :)

I quite agree - the DBT DVD is good but doesn't come close to capturing their live show. I felt the same way about the couple of shows I downloaded from archive.org

If that DVD dosn't capture their live show, their live show must kick ass.  I love that DVD.  One of my friends who wasn't a DBT fan watched it and said it made him feel like he was really at a show, which had never happened with a DVD before.
SO knowing the jacket live, a DVD from them would be mind meltingly good.
OH and one more thing about the DBT DVD, play it on a full surrond system turned up very loud, it really helps the mix and might make you feel more like you are there.  Their music should be played loud.
But I've never seen them live so what do i know...

...oh and my friend now loves DBT

Cameron

i get to see DBT in a couple of weeks!  the thing i love most about that dvd (and any truckers shows) are pattersons stories.  that guy has lived a crazy life.

i saw him and easy b almost kick the shit out of a guy at one of their duo shows here in austin.  he deserved it tough.  don't talk when patterson is in the middle of a story!
