Thanks to the local indy record store. It's f******* awesome. It's a bit dark in places (how can one play the guitar when it's so dark - I can't even play mine well with floodlights on me!), but it's so damn sweet.

Dammit, I love this band.

haven't found any, but I didn't look before football came on. Will report more later.

Also got the 6 song acoustic DVD. Very sweet, too.

I had some "issues" yesterday afternoon so this DVD came on a good day, seeing as I needed to escape for awhile.

I put the DVD on and followed this man in a top hat(A.Man?)with a Lama(I think)on a leash through the forest to a clearing where the band was playing. They seemed to fit right in with the crowd, and so did I.The Fillmore was fixed up like this magical place(into the woods)in the middle of the forest.
The crowd must have been tripping over camera's all night cause there are over a dozen camera angles that are used.It was dark at times but many different colored lights at other times. This was filmed kinda like that Primus DVD that was put out a year or so ago. Some of you might like it,others may not.
The man with the lama appears here and there in the crowd totally enjoying himself.Off the Record has some video footage of him and various other things in the middle break of the song.
We have all heard the album now so you know the performance is outstanding. My one complaint is with the deletion of "I think I'm going to hell",the Tennessee Fire album is not represented at all on the DVD.The other song that is not on here and on the album is "At dawn".
I will have to watch it numerous times for it to fully soak in but I think it is a great representation of the crowd and atmosphere at an MMJ concert.

I won't spoil it for everyone but the last scene with the man and the bear is hilarious.
Okonokos!  Okonokos!

Only a photo gallery with weird pictures of the crowd before the show started,or after. They are dressed in weird costumes so that is why I say it was people from the crowd.

I did not get the limited edition DVD with this order but am expecting to receive it on a seperate order...yes I bought 2 copies of the DVD just so I could get the Acoustic Chorale one.

Chills

No At Dawn and no Hell. That is too bad. The latter was certainly a highlight when I saw them on the last tour.

ManNamedTruth

They should've added songs to the DVD not subtracted. Whats the deal?
That's motherfuckin' John Oates!

There's actually three or four threads about Acoustic Chorale.

just picked up my copy at Ear X-Tacy...but i'm not going to watch until after tonight!!!
If you're lucky, MMJ will fill the void you didn't even know you ever had. If you're luckier, you'll get to see them live.

Jaimoe

Was it shot in HD, meaning enhanced for 16:9 televisions? Also, what's the audio like? Is it in DTS or just 5.1?

marktwain

Just out of curiousity, I looked up okonokos on Netflix.

It has 2.8 stars (out of 5) >:(
And they have it categorized as:
"Country & Western/Folk
Music & Musicals
New Country"

If you click "More Like This," good ol' Netflix shows you the Dixie Chicks, Shania Twain, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, George Strait, and Kenny Chesney. ???

Angry Ewok

And for that, Netflix can go fuck themselves.

Excellent! I'm getting it tomorrow, along with the new Roger and Pete album (there's no fucking way I'm calling those survivors: The Who).

Hey CC, seen any good westerns recently? How about that Guy Pearce/Ray Winstone/Danny Huston modern western The Proposition?

No HD or DTS but the 5.1 surround sound is excellent.Better than some I have heard.
