i love the fact that i thought my heart was going to explode several times while watching it for the first time and the fact that i almost cried when i saw the acoustic chorale dvd. :o
I painted my name on the back of a leaf
and I watched it float away

QuoteI love how Jim is standing behind the man and his llama during the actual concert...very funny.
I thought that was Jim!!!  ;D

Anyone else notice our very own Mr. CC Baxter in the photo gallery?
Nice pic CC  :)
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

Angry Ewok

Which one is CC?

Another little thing I like about Okonokos... Jim does this hunched-over hopping from one side to another during Lay Low. It's funny looking.

When the lama/alpaca "mew's" right after the first two bass notes on Wordless.

The Llama (that isn't a llama apparently!)  :o

When the light rises up the side of Jim's body and fills him up right before he let's out the final screams in Gideon.  Then aknowledging that you have experienced something that is on par with seeing Zepplin in thier prime, right after the song finishes.

I couldn't agree with you more!
I've thought this myself a few times, we really are fortunate enough to be part of something very special here.

I used to think that I would never be able to experience something that magical and true and breathtaking first hand.  "We are..................."

(for some reason i didn't get logged out properly, so i haven't actually been sitting there ignoring everyone for the last 2 days.... my computer apparently loves mmj too much to let me leave!!!)

FINALLY i got myself a copy of the dvd... i kinda avoided reading how much you guys loved the dvd until i got it (jealously is not an attractive emotion), so just did a little catch up on all the comments....

wow.

i guess most people on the board now've seen the band live, but this is my first (kinda) live experience, apart from seeing various vids around the place. i've already watched it twice, and the whole thing was great... little things i love-

- the llama/alpaca has cute little fat (wooly but fat) legs
- jim getting up close & personal with his mike stand
- pat's moves with the drumsticks... does he do that every show?? very cool
- the stage setup looked great
- jim's vocals.... geez the man is incredible
- the whole damn thing really!

one teensy little quibble though, did anyone else think jim's guitar was a bit low in the mix sometimes? carl was always great, but there were times when i just couldn't quite hear jim clearly enough....

also loved the photo gallery. great idea... there were a few familiar costumes in there, did someone say cc got in the gallery?
love a song for the way it makes you feel

Tore

Just found one thing i really enjoy. During anytime the shoot part jim and part the balcony girls going wild. I love that part.

Mr. T.

The mirrorball during Steam Engine :o

I hardly could keep my eyes dry...

Sooooooo beautiful
We are young despite the years,
we are concern,
we are hope despite the times

Among many others....I just love it when Two-Tone Tommy grins at the end of Lowdown.  Everytime I watch, I'm grinning right along with him!   ;D

Agreed...that grin pretty much sums up the vibe.

"Steam Engine" has most of my fav moments...the mirror ball, when Jim punches out "Take your money". There's also a stellar "Yeah!" during the rock out.

Anyone else catch the shot where the side of the stage looks like a stairway to the sky?

Me and my smilies - I'm a such a spaz!  But it's so fun to be a spaz!
other times I can barely see

BH

When Two Tone bangs his hand on the side of his bass during a drum part on It Beats 4 U.  And every single frame of It Beats 4 U for that matter.
I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

BH

the view of patrick ('s hair) at the beginning of one big holiday as he rides the high hat (?).  And every frame of one big holiday for that matter.

Ha, Ha........you're not watching it now by any chance.  ;)   :-*
