So I went to my local indie store here in Tempe and saw the track list for the Bonus DVD.

I dont remember all of them but i know it includes:

where to begin
at dawn
bermuda highway
strangulation
and i think dancefloors

seems as though these are the songs omitted from okonokos dvd

is this DVD out at the moment in the US? I haven't seen it in stores here yet, but I don't know if they'll either:

a. release it at the same time as the O dvd or
b. release it separately later or even more horrendously
c. not release it outside of the US (no! no!)

anyone seen any official mention of the dvd yet?

other than what Riny has told us I don't think there is any official word on this.  A radio station in Louisville has been giving the DVD away but other than that I don't think they're supposed to be distributed until Okonokos drops.  

If I had to guess I would say it's not going to make it overseas officially, but that it will have a wider distribution on the internet once the limited copies are distributed and it is "out of print", making it a legal download.  So if you want the official release you may be out of luck but if you can handle watching a copy, it'll probably be widely available in November.

Yer I think aMDs is right.

I really want this & it upsets me to think that I won't be able to get hold of it.
Since I first discovered The Jacket I've made a point of buying everything (all the EPs, The Bloodshot Records album for Behind That Locked Door, both the Elizabethtown soundtracks etc etc)
Is it worth emailing management to see if we can't get this available on the website for a month or so?
If enough people do that will it make a difference?

Here's the pic I posted from the other thread. I'll try and get some more info for you guys from ear x-tacy today at lunch.
I'll probably go the morning of the 31st or 30th @ midnight (if they're open for that) and I'll just pick up a few copies if they're avilable, no promises though.
If the dvd is truly limited and goes out of print, I am told I can spread it out for people to have it. It could be an exact copy because it would not need compression for a copy.

ya I might be willing to purchase extras and help out those in need.... there really isnt a huge following out here so it shouldnt be a problem... I have a connection with the owner of the store and hes gonna let me know when they get it and he'll have one waiting with my name on it

as far as I know you get it free when you buy the okonokos dvd (while stock lasts).

I talked to the dude there and he said it was free with the dvd purchase and they were alotted 150 copies to give away. He wasn't sure if they were doing a midnight sale but he said it'd be on the weekly email and I get that newletter.

Nah, I'm in a good mood, really. I promise... I'm just a tad irritated that I've heard three distinctly different answers coming from the exact same store.

I know what yer saying, this dude today seemed pretty knowledgable though, he looked in the computer to see how many they were alotted to give out. Even if I didn't spell alotted right, he used that work and that impressed me, haha.
I don't thing they'll be sending this out on the online orders though, that just doesn't seem like the way places like this do things. They have bonuses like this to get people in the store instead of bigbox stores like bestbuy and in turn, bestbuy has their own offers sometimes to sway people away from mom and pop.

If anyone can pick up an extra copy for me I'd be prepared to reward them for there troubles.
This is why this is silly - here I am offering someone cash to grab a copy for me when that money should really be going to the band  :-/

But I'm serious. Not sure how it would work (for those of you who don't know, I live in Japan).
Could I pay someone using Paypal?
Here's an idea, if someone could get hold of a copy for me & ship it to my address (lets say the DVD was $20 & the shipping $10) I could send them $50 worth of amazon vouchers.

i might send out a couple of emails today to see if i can get any outside US release info, other than that, i'd be willing to do a similar thing with the vouchers or whatever....

although i might be stuck back with the DVD region issue again... have to check that out  :-/
