After the dvd is pubically offered and out of stock, I am under the assumption it would be fine to trade the disc so others could have the opportunity to see it.

Acoustic Chorale is an LE/Promo offering, and it'll be considered Out of Print pretty much the day of its official release... just hold yer horses, folks.

Who knows, there may be plans to re-release this thing.

You are right.....the whole band would be pissed that a guy like me (who owns everything MMJ has released, goes to every show he can afford to go to, and preaches to everyone he knows about MMJ) would, god forbid, be able to watch a disc that he might not be able to get his hands on.  It is a freaking free disc...if anything, it will entice new people into buying MMJ albums.

I'm not asking you to put up Okonokos...I'm asking you to put up a freaking promo dvd.  It has nothing to do with morals...some of you are a little out there when it comes to this subject.  The people here who ask to hear or see rare things are not out to rip off the band...they are eager to see something that is too hard to get their hands on.  Even if the acoustic chorale disc will be easy for me to obtain (and I will do my darndest to obtain it), I don't think Jim would care if you shared the free promo disc with all of us.  We are talking about MMJ here...not Metallica.

Anyway, do what you want to do....keep the disc to yourself.  You are one of the few who has seen it...so go ahead and feel special about yourself and sit on it.  I just want everyone to know that I would share it with everyone on the boards (youtube or yousendit) because I know everyone cares about MMJ and wants to see everything they do.  But hey, according to dragonboy I'm immoral...

The whole point of this small community is to share exciting things about our favorite band.  I'm not saying you should rip all their cds and post them on the internet...I'm saying, we are all good people in here and we all want to see this cool (FREE) little treat.  So do what you want to do......I'm just saying.

the ep is a promotion for independent record stores which has not taken place yet. I think you'll have to agree that putting this up for download now would undermine that promotion. i'm sure it will become available in some way eventually. have a little patience. please. thank you  :-*

By putting it out there now it could potentially make someone not drive down to their CIMS store to buy the dvd and instead go to circuit city or (god forbid) walmart to buy it.
The freebie is to get you to support local business, if it weren't for those businesses we would be in a much worse situation in some cities.
The day it is avilable and then unavilable again, I'll put it up or b&p it for people so they too can see the full quality disc.
Just have some patience and grow up.

I appologize if I pissed you off...I think I (and others) who collect everything MMJ releases are just on edge due to the fact that we don't really know the availability of the dvd.  And if the disc is really rare, a lot of us won't be able to drive 2+ hours to get it on release day (due to having a job).  I guess I am just antsy (and somewhat impatient since I have wanted to see MMJ on DVD for a long ass time).   So sorry for being a "dick" or whatever...My love for the jacket clouds my eyeeeeeeeeees.  :-[

Just wanted you Louisvillians to know that ear x-tacy is selling the OKONOKOS dvd at the screening on Monday and it'll include the sampler (while supplies last) If you want the dvd I'd go to the screening.

I ordered a copy of Okonokos with free acoustic chorale dvd through ear X-tacy by phone today since I live too far away to go to the screening. They said that they have very few copies left, so hurry if you want to order one!

Don't know, haven't heard anything about that.
I guess that's up to the local indie stores involved.
