I didn't know Liz wrote this! I met her last year at a KRT benefit, and she's awesome.

Now I have to go see this.

Meg, take me with you...

I'll grow out the beard, and we can listen to John Denver and the Muppets' AMAZING Christmas album. So what if we're a few months behind?
--- and that's 2 real 4 u.

yes. I will take you with me, as I love you more than the baby jesus swaddled in one hundred dollar bills.

is this something people need to buy tickets for in advance? if so, when do they go on sale?

Kory

Thanks for the heads up, I wondered when this was going down...
aMD, you had said there was alot of ambient type instrumental music right, and maybe a full song or two?

Yeah, there's two songs with lyrics.  One of which ends the play.  And there's at least one more track of ambient music.  I'm still working on unearthing the tracks, but until then I recommend you go see the play.  I'm looking forward to seeing how it evolved.  The Shark Tank Theatre is a trip of a place to see a play and this is a good one.

Kory

You can count me in, I'll be there for sure!

I was thinking of making it out for their NYE celebration as well...

nah, I'm not sure.  The mailer didn't say anything about it.  I do know that seating in this place is very limited.  When I went it was free but it was also almost full.  Since they're doing it for real this time, I suspect they'll be selling tickets in advance.  But, I too will wait for them to email Kory.

featuring "new" (???) music by jim james.

I received this email regaring the performances:

Louisville's Squallis Puppeteers present, OUTSIDE, at the Shark Tank Theatre in the Squallis workspace on the third floor of 414 Baxter Avenue , February 2&3rd and 9&10th, 2007.

OUTSIDE is an original Squallis production for all ages.  The large cast of puppets includes Ruby, a four-foot tall body puppet, who finds herself with a difficult assignment- to perform for a school talent show.  On her way home, she meets many characters who introduce her to new ideas.  She also faces off with some creepy bugs. This original play developed by Liz Fentress and Squallis, featuring music by Jim James, and a cast of puppets operated by Squallis Puppeteers' staff Nora Christensen and Jess Myers.

OUTSIDE was performed in September as a preview, and it has changed many times since then. Come see the evolution of this project.

Friday, February 2nd &9th, 2007 at 7:00 pm
Saturday, February 3rd and 10th at 2:00 pm & 7:00 pm

Outside tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for children under 12 and are available at the door. This show is recommended for children  6 and up.

This project was partially funded by Kentucky Foundation for Women, Kentucky Arts Council and donated effort of Jim James and Kevin Ratterman.
