Just wondering about the Chocolate and Ice EP. I bought it yesterday and noticed on the inside it said one of the musicians was CC Deville? Do they mean Poison star, Surreal Life star, CC Deville? Or is that some odd coincidence?

Anyone else have this EP and maybe know the answer? Just curious!

Kory

yea, I think it's a joke.

Okay that makes more sense.

I hope it's a joke. He's one of the least respected "professional" guitarists out there.

I misread your post and saw "most" instead of "least" and nearly went apeshit... glad I read it 3 more times for my brain to register correctly...

We talked about this a few years back.....I think it's a joke.But I can't hear J.J.Cale on Neil Young's "Comes a Time" album either. ;D

It's credit to the Cadillac Coupe Deville parked in the studio.

"Recorded in Above The Cadillac Studios."

The automobile apparently contributed some sounds to Cobra.

That's what I was told anyway.
I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

Oooo, good one! I like that, maybe it's the snake sound...

Is the Deville only used on Cobra and not any of the other songs?

Is there any particualr part of the song that you can notice the car in it?

I shall try to do some research on this tonight after a few *coughs*

Very important research.

That sounds like the plan that I was planing on trying myself.

Hope mid-way through listening I don't forget what I am listening for.

Sometimes that happens.

Kory

I do that as well when I am trying to focus on lyrics and such, I get involved in an instrumental part and forget to listen. Sometime I can sing along just fine but don't really know what I'm even saying...

The only time I ever really try to figure out the lyrics is when I first buy the album and want to know the meaning behind the song. After that the more I listen it I don't really pay attention.

CTdeadhead

I just figured it was supposed to be CC Baxter and someone screwed up. ;)

if you are a cobra junkie like me......the definitive version of the tune has to be the version from b-roo 04.

This EP arrived in the post yesterday.  I've waited a long time to get it (not easily available in backwoods UK), and it's fantastic.

How fucking great is Cobra?  I need to get my head round this whole disc...
The trouble with the straight and the narrow is it's so thin, I keep sliding off to the side

Anyone seen the Grateful Dead - Closing Winterland (New Years Eve 1970 or 71) where Ken Kesey plays that car?  It was all strung up and definitely not the most delicate sound, I might add.  I cant remember what he called it though

FYI - the cover shot was taken at Heine Brothers Coffee on Frankfort Ave in Louisville...where Jim worked at through AT DAWN!
If you're lucky, MMJ will fill the void you didn't even know you ever had. If you're luckier, you'll get to see them live.
