My Morning Jacket has a new album coming out on June 10th called Evil Urges.

I wonder what the discussion will be like about the tracks? Will people say things like

"I really liked track 3, it reminded me sort of like Big Audio Dynamite meets Kings of Leon"    or

"Track 7 shows me that Jim has become Catholic"   or

"Track 1 is a nice try at MMJ trying to be something they aren't; like duct taping a Mercedes emblem on the hood of a Pontiac"     or

"Track 8 sounds cheap"   or.....

"Track 4 is better than Track 5 off Tennessee Fire but not as good as Track 6 off At Dawn and about as equally powerful as Track 2 off It Still Moves"

?

...dont really know how I should respond.
God damn those shaky knees.

Don't be such a damn bastard, you asshole. Not even funny.

Tracy, you dick, the band asked us to respect their views which means don't even frickin talk about the album. Don't touch it. Don't even look at it.

You should be ashamed for even thinking about thinking about thinking about it. Ass.

Whatever, who even cares about the tracks.  The only reason I've even been excited about this album coming out is so that we could all debate the morality of listening to a leak, while we call each other names.  I mean, I REALLY want to know how everyone feels about this issue AGAIN.  It's may very well be my favorite part of an album release.....SPICY!
There's Still Time.........

Have you not noticed that your condescending tone towards me regarding the discussion of the discussion of the upcoming discussion means you too are a participant in these discussions about the discussion and are no way shape or form guiltless when it comes to not discussing the discussion regarding the discussion even though you present as not discussing about the discussion for the impending discussion.

Brian, you can always review where my leaks come from....

Dude, screw you. Not only do I know the band personally, but I plan on buying eight t-shirts (hell, one for my dog), like 39 copies of the album for my friends, a good four or five dozen of the vinyl, all thee singles, and follow the band through Europe this summer on their tour. So you can shut up and quit judging me. I may be discussing the discussion regarding the discussion, but that doesn't mean I'm actually discussing your discussion regarding the discussion...

I'll go ahead and give my pre-listen discussion of each track:

Track 1: I bet the band does drugs.
Track 2 : Well, maybe not hard drugs, but they've GOTTA be using hallucinagins for sure.
Track 3: Yep, they definitely smoke weed.
Track 4: I dunno.  Did you hear how the beat got real fast?  I think Patrick's a coke-head.
Track 5: In Rolling Stone, Jim said this one was, "His favorite".  I think that means he's gay.
Track 6: Sell outs.
Track 7: This ROCKS!  Easily beats ANY Silver Jews song.
Tracks 8-11: For real though.  Does anyone think these songs are inspired by drug use?

I really think that they smoke pot.     Each time i say this people bombard me with comments regarding how it doesnt matter, and how its not my busniess.    Frankly, i dont care if it has anything to do with anything.        I firmly believe these guys smoke the dope.
cheers.
