I would personally like to see the band team up with Brian Eno.  Any thoughts or other suggestions?

cheers.

dragonboy

God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

John Paul Jones/Robert Plant/Jimmy Page
Sittin' here with me and mine.  All wrapped up in a bottle of wine.

What about Alison Krauss or some other lady?

BH

I want to hear Gillian Welch sing the background vocals at the end of Touch Me Part 1.

I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

mymonkeyfriend

please no brian eno. I hate his wordly u2/coldplay sound. too much for the masses.

Jellyrolls

I think MMJ teamed up with Neko case would be the most beautiful collaboration since Mos Def and Talib Kweli.

That was Sarah Elizabeth.  Some say Sarah Elizabeth Whitehead.  Yes, she and Jim sounded very good together.  They also did "Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man" and "White Rabbit" and several more duets that day.  They had good chemistry.  She's got a real Emmy Lou Harris thing going on for her.  :o

Thanks for stealing my thunder with VietNam GivenToFly lol. Although VietNam is apparently in the process of filling a few holes if these 2 ever toured together I would indeed take a leave of absence and bum it around the country to see them.

Although he's getting up there in years I'd like to see them do something with Neil Young. I think a Jim James/Neil Young collaboration would be exceptional.  Jenny Lewis would be a cool collaboration too. Rilo Kiley is alright but I love her solo stuff, and she's really becoming quite a songwriter. She isnt exactly hard to look at, either.
Say friend, you got any more of that good sasparilla?

I've been saying this for years...I'd love to see MMJ and the Drive-By Truckers tour together.  It would be so epic.

I think getting Danger Mouse to help produce a few trax would keep the band moving farther out into outer space....
O, How time flies, with crystal clear eyes.  But it's cold, it's cold, when you're ending with diamond eyes.

I always dreamed of Jim being a backup/chorus soul singer on a hip hop album for someone like Mos, Talib, Common or another rapper with some indie cred.  It would be perfect! Plus Jim would have a field day with hip hop sounds!
God damn those shaky knees.

That would be one of the more amazing tours ever.  I say have Jason Isbell with them too!

Rare to meet a VietNam fan. GiveToFly and I saw them open for Jenny Lewis and I also so them minus their drummer at a small club. I introduced myself to them before their set just to say I was a fan and came to see them, and lo and behold after their set they walked right over and sat at my table for about 2 hours.

Unfortunately they are in a bit of an odd spot right now. They more or less split up and the lead singer/writer Michael Gerner plans on continuing under the same name with some new guys. Its a shame, because their debut is fucking excellent.
