If anyone didn't see this buried in the other thread, PM me and I will let you know where to find both the original Project and the revision.

This is a complete re-imagining of the various available Okonokos releases by My Morning Jacket, all in lossless audio. I noticed that all of the different incarnations of the Okonokos album had different track listings and song orders, so I was curious to see if a more complete and accurate release could be achieved using the existing elements. Using the set lists from the two Fillmore concerts (the source for all Okonokos footage), I have re-ordered all tracks into the closest possible representation of the the actual performed song order. Various custom audience cross-fade edits were required to make this project one, seamless experience. Now, for the first time, all tracks from the Okonokos CD release, DVD release, and Acoustic Chorale bonus DVD are together in one place and in the closest approximation of their original order. To this end, order priority has been afforded to night one for songs shared by both performances. Songs unique to one performance or the other were added where they were performed in relation to the shared tracks. I am extremely proud of the results.

Source Information:
The majority of this comes from the 24bit/48kHz Linear PCM tracks from both the Okonokos DVD and Acoustic Chorale DVD releases, downsampled to 16bit/44.1kHz for fully-compatible CD playback. "Dancefloors", the one track to appear on neither of the DVD releases, was sourced from the 16bit/44.1kHz CD release. This was truly a labor of love for me, and I hope those of you who grab this enjoy Okonokos as never before.  It was brought to my attention after creating this compilation that there was an "album only" iTunes exclusive Okonokos track ("How Do You Know"). I have added this song into the set list for the project in its proper order. This was extracted from the best available source (the m4p iTunes file exported to wav and then back to lossless FLAC). I've included three tracks in the revision: the newly-added track, and the two tracks that bookend it, now re-edited for seamless playback like the rest of the concert. Those of you who have the original Project, please renumber tracks 8-29 as detailed below:

PM Croweyes if your interested in where this is at.  Anyone who finished downloading can you please seed, I was getting faster speeds when it was just one seeder.  Now my time is running around 1-2 days, not cool.  So again if  you downloaded it and since stopped seeding, for everyone's sake please seed again!

Kory

I'm the same way... it's sitting at home right now at 1-2 days to complete.
I really want to give it a spin.

It must just be the increased number of leechers that has slowed this down so much, so hopefully this issue will get resolved once the traffic dies down a bit.  Sorry for the delay in any case.  There will be one seeder for sure, so no worries (if you catch my meaning).  I hope it proves worth everyone's trouble in the end.  :-)

Kory

Hey, it's no trouble; we appreciate your effort to get this together.
Only griping about the woes of internet leaching, but I think we're all guilty of that at times...

It has just been brought to my attention that the iTunes version of Okonokos has "How Do You Know" as an exclusive.  For anyone who has grabbed this project and enjoyed it, can anyone hook me up with this track so I can incorporate it into the project?  I didn't realize that it was available.  When I finish it, I will gladly repost a torrent of just the three tracks that will change to add this to the set list.

easy way

Ahhhh ha ha ha ha!!! Thanks Crow. Nice work here.

So does no one have track 8 they could hook me up with so I can complete this?  I suppose I could rip it from my vinyl, but I'm afraid the sound quality would suffer.  I'm not exactly using the greatest equipment for tasks like that.

Kory

hey man, I'll hook you up when I get home later, I don't know if I have the vinyl rip or stumbled across the itunes version though. If I forget (which I probably will) shoot me a PM or email.

it's on my ipod and in the comments it says "downloaded from itunes, converted to mp3 to kill drm" so it's not the vinyl rip. it sounds good though as it seems there has been a transcode.

Awesome, thanks, Kory, it is greatly appreciated.  I have a spectro-analyzer I can play it through to make sure the quality's up to snuff before I add it in.  If worse comes to worse, I can always rip my vinyl as well and compare the two.

EDIT: When you send it, just send the original m4a if you can.  I'll skip the mp3 step and convert to wav (or to cda and then to wav if need be) and then to FLAC for best quality.

I couldn't send you the m4a if I wanted to man, I don't have it for one but for two, if you find someone with it... you'll need their itunes login and password to get past the drm.

Unless someone here can rip the m4a to a CD-R, rip the CD-R to a wav, and send me a yousendit link to either the wav or a FLAC of it, etc., I guess I will try and get this from the vinyl.  Am I correct in assuming that a vinyl rip would be the only true "lossless" route to go on "How Do You Know"?  There is no lossless digital version, is that right?

Croweyes1121

Crap!  "How Do You Know" isn't ON the vinyl!!!  I was all set to do a rip and couldn't find it.  Apparently, some sites wrote down the track list incorrectly.  So I have to get my hands on that m4a file somehow.  Any takers want to complete this project for me?  As noted earlier in this thread, I either need the original m4a file (i.e., temporary access to an iTunes account that has purchased the entire album so I can burn this to disc) or a wav file ripped from a disc that is burned from the m4a file.  Anyone??  I have something *extremely* rare to trade in return if I can get someone to help with this...

EDIT: Someone has hooked me up with this.  I will add this track to "The Okonokos Project" and let everyone know when the update is complete.

EDIT AGAIN: Revision completed.  Torrent uploaded.  Same location.

I would love to hear this, Okonokos is one of my favorite pieces of music and I swear I have listened to a song off of it every day for about a year.

Look it up on demonoid.

Many thanks for this, a truly great piece of work. Much appreciated.  ;)

Croweyes1121

Thanks a lot!  If anyone still wants to hear this, by the way, there are still 11 seeders and no leechers right now.
