Can anyone confirm this?  If it is true do you know what songs he has playing on?

That is good news I have the leaked copy.  I gave it a listen to it when I was tired the other night, but Jim's voice didn't stick out to me.  Maybe its very minor and I didn't notice it, since I was half asleep.  The record sounds great by the way.  I am def going to pick this bad boy up on vinyl!

Amazing record.  I'm a long time follower of the Decemberists as well as MMJ.  Get this...MMJ @ Roo '04.  The following weekend at Exit/In Nashville...MMJ one night, the Decemberists followed the next evening.  It was a great 10 day span.

Anyhoo, I also listened to this leaked version of "Hazards of Love", but will have to give it another listen to try to pick out Jim.  The switch up among the female vocalists is also astounding.

I can't wait to see this performance tour culminate at Bonnaroo and hopefully include a guest appearance by Jim Olliges himself.

How 'bout it Jim?  PLEEEEEEEEEEEZE!

Yeah, it was way subtle, but I am almost positive thats our very own JJ on the final track. "Didn't I, Didn't I, Didn't I?"

I could definitely be wrong and he may be other places too, certainly not in any leading roles. On a side note, this is an absolutely amazing album. If any of you are stumbling by here and don't already have it (pirated, of course) consider snagging it and giving it a careful listen. I'll definitely be purchasing this in some form or another when it hits the shelves. Love me some Decemberists, haven't been lucky enough to catch them live yet :(

I just got the album in the mail, so I can tell you what tracks he's on for sure: Prelude, Margaret in Captivity, The Wanting Comes in Waves (Reprise) and The Hazards of Love 4 (The Drowned). He's very hard to hear since they use his voice more like an instrument, blending it in with the guitars. However he's back there, enriching the songs. It's very subtle, but he's there for sure if you listen closely with headphones. If you don't think you can hear him, you just don't realize that you do. I probably wouldn't have without the booklet but the record being over, I certainly feel as if I've heard Jim James and he's improved my life once again. This is a stunning album by the way. Easily the best Decemberists CD. In fact, I don't think I've heard a better overall record since Z. I recommend it to everyone.  :D 8-) [smiley=shocked.gif]
