I have read that article in de Volkskrant. I think it shows that the writer had never been to a My Morning Jacket show before this one. But it was a very positive article nonetheless.

Last Tuesday it was the second time I saw MMJ perform in 013 in Tilburg (the Netherlands). I can say that their latest performance really really rrrrrealllly rocked the house! This on the other hand also means, to my personal opinion, that they've lost some of their sensitive touch. The At Dawn show struck me with this awesome goose bumpy feeling. Especially the beginning of the concert with the curtains closed, the solo singer songwriter performance by Jimmy James and the extra with " I will be there when you die". That was a memorable night... The last show was also great, but less extraordinary then I hoped it would be.

Well, all told it was a great show, but I must add a slight grumble here about certain members of the audience who consider a trip to a concert to be nothing more than a gezellig uitstapje [ in other words a social occasion]. Would you believe, at one point in the concert [Jims solo spot] some idiot let their mobile telephone ring....TWICE!!

peanut butter puddin surprise

Funny story!  American audiences must be really fucking loud all of the time as you wouldn't hear someone's phone ring if all of our lives depended upon it!  ha ha

Last weekend at the Cash Bros. show, I was calling my friend to come out to the show as the audience was really small...just as they were announcing the start of the show!  They mocked me greatly!

Later, I apologized and they were so funny...esp. after they heard I was trying to recruit more audience!
