Hoorah, those Kentucky hoods are coming back to Blighty,  playing Shep Bush Empire, London on 2 July.  There MUST be other dates out there, c'mon peeps whadyaknow?

More Names Added To Carling Weekender

Alongside the only festival performances in England and Wales from The Darkness, the only announced live UK performances from The White Stripes and Green Day's come more additions to the bill of the Carling Reading and Leeds Weekender.


Now added to the Main Stage (Friday August 27 in Reading and Saturday August 28 at Leeds) are Reel Big Fish, Taking Back Sunday and Goldie Lookin Chain while The Roots and Thursday are joining the bill on Saturday August 28 at Reading and Sunday August 29 in Leeds.

Sunday in Leeds also sees the return of My Morning Jacket, who will be playing their first announced UK festival date since the departure of guitarist Johnny Quaid and keyboard player Danny  Cash last January

Joining Graham Coxon on the Radio 1 Stage line up (Saturday 28 in Reading and Sunday 29 in Leeds) is the Mercury Award winning Dizzee Rascal.

And finally, Dropkick Murphys, The Rasmus, Thrice and Yellowcard have all been confirmed as playing the Main Stages of Reading on Sunday 29 and Leeds on Friday 27.

The Carling Reading/Leeds Weekender will take place from Friday June 27 till 29 at Richfield Avenue, Reading and Bramham Park, Wetherby, Leeds respectively.  

The acts confirmed for the Carling Weekender Festival so far are:

Friday, August 27 Reading / Saturday August 28 Leeds
Main Stage: The Darkness (headline), The Offspring, Ash, The Hives, Jurassic 5, Hundred Reasons, Reel Big Fish, Taking Back Sunday, Goldie Lookin' Chain.
Radio One Stage: Graham Coxon
 
Saturday August 28 Reading / Sunday, August 29 Leeds
Main Stage: The White Stripes (headline), Morrissey, The Libertines, Franz Ferdinand, The Vines. The Roots, My Morning Jacket (Leeds only), Thursday
Radio One Stage: Funeral For A Friend, Dizzee Rascal

Sunday, August 29 Reading / Friday, August 27 Reading
Main Stage: Green Day (headline), 50 Cent, Placebo, Lostprophets, The Streets, Dropkick Murphys, The Rasmus, Thrice, Yellowcard
Radio One Stage: Supergrass, Von Bondies

They are playing Aberdeen Lemon Tree on Wed August 25th. Check www.lemontree.org for details.

I'm so pissed off I'll be missing that gig. I leave Aberdeen on that day to fly down to Reading festival. At least I can see them at Reading (and Glastonbury) but a gig in my hometown would have been ace!! I dream they change the gig to the Tuesday night.
