The Wilco site says that tix are available at  10 am at the musictoday website.  I can't seem to find any place to buy tix for this amazing show.  Help!

Just purchased my tix.  Awesome.  MMJ and Wilco. Wow.  Just saw Wilco at JazzFest and they were awesome.  Tweedy in the sunlight was a sight.  MMJ at Tower will be a nice tease until the Penns Landing show.

O.K., I'm seriously freaking out about these shows.  Wilco and MMJ together on the same bill--unbelievable this is a dream come true.  Anyone else from KY thinking about heading up for any of these monumentous shows.

Greggy, if I could I would pack Wilco and MMJ in 2 suitcases, and carry them to northern England.  All I ask is that you buy me a pint.

marktwain

By the way, if you haven't picked your derby pony yet, Wilko is a good choice, based solely on its name.

And I would be more than glad to, as you well know.

i feel kind of sorry for wilco, having mmj open for them.  don't get me wrong; i love wilco.

But these bands couldn't be more different or brilliant in their own right.

the same could be said for their live shows.  i've seen both of these guys live and wilco can't live up to mmj.

mmj is soo frickin intense and wilco is sooo takin it easy, it'll be like getting a climax then the buildup afterwards. its gonna feel lopsided.

thats my opinion anyways.

Good point. They are both great but it's not an easy combination. MMJ does not seem to be an 'opening band' to me, they just rock too much! Maybe they should end their set a little mellower than usual. We'll see how it works.

Speaking of strange combinations, Wilco has The Roots to open for them on two dates, that'll be amazing!

don't feel sorry for wilco;  i'm sure they'll be just fine!!!  i don't see that much of a difference as i think both of these bands get to the same place in their shows, albeit, in different ways.  this latest incarnation of wilco is one of the best bands i've EVER seen.  Easily the best double bill of the year, not to be topped.  wish i could be there..have fun.. on a side note, i told j.j awhile back that i sincerely thought (based on the differences in sound on albums, eps,et.) that if anyone could reproduce the feeling and quality of "dark side of the moon" it'd be him and them..and lo and behold...they're gunna do it!!!!

EC

what does that mean, bb?  is mmj remaking dark side of the moon? (;))
seriously though... can't entirely figure out what they're gunna do...

Of course they'll be just fine, but i still think it's not an easy combination. If the crowds go with it, it'll be amazing shows.

biscuitbobo

yeah, i hope the general crowds have as much good taste as all of us do!!  if they don't, they'll never appreciate what special shows these could be!!  I forgot to mention in my last post the reason i remembered that was because they were working with john leckie, engineer who worked on dark side and many other amazing projects.  as far as i know, it's not "dark side"!!  but...i have heard it's going to great.
