Just read this rumor on the Wilco board....can anyone confirm this please? This would be pretty much be the most rock show ever. :)

where is penn's landing? if it's close i'm making a road trip, never heard of the place

WillCo

Is that the Landing as in "I sincerely miss those heavy metal bands I used to go see on the Landing in the summer"? If so, I think that's a venue in St. Louis. I have a book about Wilco and I think that's where the Landing is. Don't quote me on that.

Of course, "Penn" makes me think it's in Philly...

Damn, that would be one helluva show. Damn.

I can't wait for this tour to hit. I'm looking forward to grabbing some new torrents...

Chills

Wow. My two favorite bands of the moment on one night. Go check it out, those in the neighborhood...
Wilco are pretty much on fire now. Shooting a live dvd at Chicago's Vic Theatre pretty soon.
But they should come back to Europe for the summer!

EC

coooooooool.

Damn, though.  Looks like on the rest of their tour, they'll be playing Montreal and no Toronto.  Maybe I'll have to go and visit some friends...  hm.

Mark_from_NJ

hey folks-

ive been a huge fan for about two years now, mmj is the best thing i've found on the music scene in that time period, just beautiful stuff

i'm happy to say i'll be seeing them for the first time ever at philly...see you there

sweatboard

I'm Glad you'll finally get to see them live.  It will only make you a bigger fan.  Make sure you tell us all about it.
There's Still Time.........

October

hey people, i live about two hours from Philly and i'm debating going to this one.

Here's the dilemma.  First off, I've NEVER seen mmj before but I've been obsessed with them for years.  It's really starting to grate on me.  The problem is, I have work early the next morning and MMJ is not even headlining.  Is this gonna be worth it.  I like Wilco a lot, but not like I like MMJ.

So should I drive the two hours for 45 mins. of MMJ, or will there be more tour dates later this summer closer to NYC???

Chills

So, my guess is they'll probably be back for more dates closer to NYC in the summer. But seeing Wilco and MMJ together seems like a treat to me... Wilco is pretty great live too so it doesn't look like a bad deal.

However If you only want to see MMJ and still have to work you can probably wait for later dates

EC

QuoteSo should I drive the two hours for 45 mins. of MMJ
heh.  I'm driving pretty far to see them.  (I mean, it kind of worked out that way.)

But here's what I think about things like this: DO IT.  You'll miss some sleep, but you can make it up.  2 hours is a long drive, but if you don't go, it'll be one less thing on the pages that create your history.  I mean, you won't be worse for not going, but you'll definitely be better for going.

45 minutes of live MMJ is worth the 2 hour drive.  Plus, if Wilco isn't as important to you, you can always leave early, and not lose as much sleep... :)

hellaciousc

MMJ is also opening for Wilco in Buffalo.  Don't know if that's any closer for you or not.

But yeah, what EC said.

Never let work/sleep get in the way of ROCK and having a good time.
