In the latest issue of Velocity, they have the Jacket opening for Wilco in the concert calender. Who knows, its a shitty newspaper.

Yeah, Neal's back!  ::)
BTW, what do you care if they come to the Palace or not.  I thought you would only go see MMJ if you could smoke and move around?

Ha ha ha.  Neal I love you man.  It's good having you back.  It is super entertaining when you chime in.

Anyway, if they play at the Palace next week--one thing is for sure--there will not be any disinterested folks in the front row.  It will be the show of the century.

You guys git those damn asses to the Palace show.

Oh man.  If it is all true, that's just so wicked.  :)

I second that, get tickets now, they're going fast. And as of yesterday 06/23/05, I called the Palace box office and this time the conversation went something like this:

Me- "Is there anyone else on the bill?"
Them- "Yes, My Morning Jacket."
Me- "Are you sure, I've heard some disparity going around about that?"
Them- "Yes, they're playing."
Me- "So why haven't they announced it?"
Them- "I don't know why initially, but now they don't want to have to pay to make any changes to the publicity already out there. They will likley officially announce it next week."
Me (thinking, "whatever the hell that meant")- "Are you telling the truth?"
Them (laughs)- "Yes, so did you want to buy tickets?"
Me- "No, I already have mine, but thanks."
Them- "Ha, ha, ha, thanks for calling the Palace box office."

Well, that was basic gist of the conversation. Oooooh, I can just see you all squirming, wondering if he was telling the truth, still on the fence about getting tickets! Who cares? Just go anyway. I'll be there front row center. You can at least come meet me. I'm 6 foot tall, 150lbs, short reddish blonde hair, glasses. I enjoy long walks on the beach, puppy dogs and ice cream.

in that case i guess i'll ask mom and pop if i can drive up to Louisville.  Which would suck for me since I've never driven in the town...that's right, when i went to see Interpol and Q and not U, my dad drove me :-[

I'm seeing Robert Plant on the 29th, and sitting outside Greer Stadium and listening to Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson the day before that.  That almost assures a NO.  Oh and I have to save up some money for Neil Young's five nights of shows at the Ryman.

I just wonder how i should go about asking.  Possibly buying the ticket tommorow and saying "Well, i already have the ticket, i'd be wasting my money."  Or inviting my dad since he i got him into MMJ.

Also, I would probably make my way up even if it was just Wilco, same goes for MMJ.  Being a Seventeen year old music fan sucks!  It's always "Sorry we can't let you in," or it's "We're not letting you drive to Louisville."

I think you should ask your Dad to go with you.  Dads like to be included.

Also, don't worry about driving in Louisville.  Some of the streets are one way, but I found it pretty easy to get around.  Especially where you're going.

Either that or ask Mr. John Conaway.  He's good with directions.   :)

I wish i had read your advice earlier.

I went and bought my ticket, when i got home i had my mom bring the concert up and tell my dad i had already bought my ticket.  He told me I couldn't go but did it in the most asshole way possibly.  It wouldn't have been to bad if he  would've just said no.  But he gave this big fucking lecture and said you go to too many concerts, and no, you are not going to drive.

Come to find out that I can't go to the Tom Petty and the Black Crowes concert either because he scheduled our trip to Orlando that week.  I got those tickets for my birthday from my sister.  I tried to get him to let me stay here like he did last time they flown somehere(i can't fly) but he said no to that as well.  :'(

Specialist, you really need to go to college....somewhere away from home.  Until you're 18 you are stuck my man.  But in a few years you really will appreciate all your parents have done for you.

i'm going to this show no matter what it takes.  I gave a pretty good argument, and they are considering it.  But if they say no.  Then at about 3am I'll just drive up there and hang out till the concert.  Sure when i get back i'll be in trouble, but i don't care, i've got to see Wilco and MMJ.

oh well, tonight it's all about Robert Plant.
