last night was amazing... i was impressed by how many of the folks down front with me were familiar with the new stuff -- which, to my surprise, actually outshone the older stuff (for the most part)!  "gideon" was absolutely exhilarating.  the bread cover was such a solid call, and even audience members who were in diapers when bread was big seemed to get into it.  anyway, was anyone here familiar with the pre-show music?  they always pick such cool stuff, and last night they played a song -- about three songs before the show started -- that was really great, kind of funky but not one of the hip-hop tracks.  can anyone identify it?  i'd provide more detail but i was really high...   ::)

Was it possibly a song from one of the best albums of all time:  David Bowie's "Lady Stardust" from the album "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust"

hmmm, i don't remember any bowie... but i feel really uncool for not recognizing whatever it was!  i think the chorus was basically just "yeah, yeah, yeah" or something like that.  (no, it wasn't beck.)

is that bootleg pretty good quality?  Because if it isn't, I don't want to download for 4 hours.  Anyone have the whole thing yet?  How is it?

Damn that was hot. I had such a good time... it was something like orgasmic sound... and I had the best spot ever - right up front (I could have reached over and touched the stage)!

The setlist was awesome. I, too, thought that they were going to play the entire Z album (and without even speaking to the crowd - he didn't say hello until the 3rd or 4th song). Oh, and the lights were pretty cool...

Long story short, I left My Morning Jacket's performance smoking a cigar - 'cause I felt like I just delivered baby jesus or something.

Oh - and on the way out I picked up Z tour shirt - I'm so happy to finally have an MMJ shirt, I'll be wearing it all around town, even when I go to the My Chemical Romance concert tonight (yes, I realize MMJ and MCR are kind of contrast to one another).

--- and that's 2 real 4 u.
