With photos by Mark Cornelison and technical assistance from David Stephenson, we slapped together an audio slideshow featuring part of My Morning Jacket's performance of Wordless Chorus. Enjoy!

My Morning Jacket
In my opinion, this was The Show to see last night, although it meant missing Common and Blackilicious. Jim James has vocal stamina that could serve his opera career well, if he had one. The band spent 2 1/2 hours on stage, the first being a hipster-pleaser, and the last serving the hippies well. The band played some of the greatest songs from Z and It Still Moves, but seemed purely jam band by the time the set ended at 2:30 a.m. The band welcomed Andrew Bird on stage for a while, and ealier James played with Bright Eyes, so there some musical overlap, too.

**************
Louisville native Jim James, of My Morning Jacket, first started thinking about music when he was three. The Wonderful World of Disney ended with the song When You Wish Upon a Star, and he was left thinking that it was the end of all Disney cartoons. Forever. But, My Morning Jacket opened its set last night by playing the very same song and letting James wander out on stage holding a lantern. I'm not sure what message we're supposed to derive from this, but it makes good conversation.

It's all very magical, isn't it?  All this talk of Disney, lanterns, glowsticks, smiling faces, opera careers ( ;)), etc.

I don't know what else to say other than: LOVEBEAMS.
