Kind of like a support group for Jacket Virgins...

I'll go first:
My name is Andrew & I'm 32 years old. I first discovered the Jacket in 2003 & they've been my fav band ever since but I've yet to see them live.
I live in Japan which makes things difficult. They played the Sumer Sonic festival here in 2003 & Fuji-Rock in 2005. I didn't know about the Summer Sonic show & couldn't make it to Fuji-Rock. I went to the States last year hoping to see them live but they were recording Z at the time. I missed them in the UK by 2 or 3 weeks in the summer of 2004.

Somedays I'm so sad I can hardly get out of bed. Some nights I wake up with tears in my eyes...
If there's a bright side to this tragic story it's knowing that I have tickets to see MMJ at the Astoria in London this Sept when I'm home in the UK for my sister's wedding.

Thankyou,thankyouverymuch.

Who's next?  ;)
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

ali

i'll put my hand up next:

my name's alison, i'm 27, and yes, sad to say, i am a jacket virgin. i was first blown away by the recorded bliss of Z in november 2005 so missed the jacket when they played in melbourne for the to-date only time in march 2004.

this is a hard thing to admit, to being a jacket virgin, but i know the day will come... the rest of you will have to be gentle with us, we're very jealous.
 ;)
love a song for the way it makes you feel

Thanks for sharing Alison, that must have been tough  ;)
Anyone else? There's no need to be ashamed anymore, we're here for you!

Ha, I've seen them 16 times.  I'm only saying this because I can tell you from experience that when you finally do see them you will have your ever living mind blown to bits.  The thing about this band is they don't take a night off.  I can without a doubt guarantee what you are going to get when you finally do see them.

I was talking to Bo one time and telling him about how the first show I saw was actually his and Carl's second show they ever played with the band and how I had never felt something that POWERFUL from live music.  Folks, there were probably only another 75 people in the room that night.  Bo told me that they set out each and every night to blow that ONE person away, it doesn't matter if there are two people in the room or 2000.
There's Still Time.........

Hmm, not too sure who told you about this little gathering but it's for Jacket Virgins only...kindly take your 16 shows back to the How Many Shows Have You Seen thread please!  ;)

Just kidding, I know what you mean. From every live report I've read both on this board & in the press, to every show I've downloaded to every clip I've seen I know exactly what you're talking about.

That's why i think it's cool that they're being more careful about how many shows they do. Jim & the boys give 110% every time & that's got to be hard work...the guys need to take a break now & then!

BTW, love your new pic Brian? Is it the Jacket? PJ? I can't quite make it out  :)

joey_rogo

jacket virgin here :(

Seeing mmj live is definately waaay up there on the things to do list. They came to my home town in 04, literally minutes from my house, but I was out of town that day and couldnt make it. >:( It's been hard finding time to travel, so I'm just gonna have to wait till they swing my way again.

till then I'll try to survive best I can, knowing I'm missing out on something amazing.

My new pic is one that our good buddy Trey took at The Rites Of Spring Show in Nashville earlier this year.  I used another one of his pics as my avitar a while back.  He took some stunners that night.  Good Work Trey.

Brian, did you happen to have a short bastard in a Hawaain t-shirt approach you and ask you where the Vikings were? If so... the bastard was me.

And to all the MMJ virgins - it'll be well worth the wait, when you finally do get to see them... You'll probably even become an even huger fan.
--- and that's 2 real 4 u.

Kokee

me too. unpopped cherry. last time they were here was a restricted show and i was gutted that i was too young to get in.  :'(but the guys were nice enough to sign their cd for me, but that hardly compensates for missing the live performance. i listened through the doors though and could hear (muffled) music and singing.

Thanks for sharing Kokee.
If you don't mind me asking, how old are you? How many years will you have to wait before you can see them? Are must shows in the US age restricted? That must be even worse, knowing that they're in your town but you can't see them...

ycartrob

you know, though, in a weird way, I sort of envy you folks b/c I saw MMJ 8 months after I first heard them (April 2003). I cannot imagine how stoked and blown away you guys will be when you do get to see them.

Pretty awesome to think about.

MrLaurel

Howdee..

Going 2 see MMJ in Edinburgh (Scotland) on 26th Aug..Small venue c 450 people...Been dreaming of this day for a long while now!

Haha, nice one jrat!
Having said that, I will skip on the group hug this time if that's OK  :-/  ;)

Jernigan

I am a virgin as well.

But I believe things will have changed after this
Friday in Chicago!

If so, I'm sure I'll come home and write a page
or two about how I was blown away. I get goose
bumps listening to them live.

I can't imgaine how it will be at Lollapalooza. It looks
like they only get an hour, but I'm sure I'll be alright with
the setlist.
