Good solid review... And one that isn't just another writer trying to sound articulate. Good stuff here.

QuoteGood tunes, great band
Fun, good tunes, and a band enjoying themselves. Greenbelt witnesses My Morning Jacket live.

Headlining the festival on a Sunday evening has always seemed a tough gig. It hasn't the energy or buzz of Saturday night, nor the final night excitement of a Monday evening.

Acts have played and played very well, but in My Morning Jacket, Sunday had a headliner of quality and distinction.

My Morning Jacket have been critically accaimed and their live shows talked about widely, but how would that translate onto the new outdoor mainstage and to a large Greenbelt audience?

Well. Very well.

The songs from the latest Album Z had power. The band were tight. The sound was great and the lighting show spectacular.

The thing that set this performance apart was just the evident joy which the band had on stage. Good music played by a band who are enjoying themselves is hard to resist. The interaction of the band on stage was great, their stage presence dominated the outdoor mainstage area.

In short, a great Greenbelt gig, by a band who are enjoying what they are doing and seem headed to become very popular indeed.

Thanks for the setlist Ben, thanks for posting Doc  :)
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.
