So I didn't make it to Nashville for the Theater show, but I was able to pick up the Acoustic Chorale disc last night.  I turned off every light in the house put it 5.1 and cranked it untill I was enveloped in heavy blanket of sound.  After watching it I have to say Carl's side of the stage is quickly becoming the most underated side to be on.  He basically owns those acoustic songs with some heavinly guitar tones and stylings.  The shit he does on At Dawn blows my frigging mind......not to mention, I Think I'm Going To Hell and Strangulation :o :o :o :o :o  Go Carl!!!!!  I remember thinking the same things at the Bonnaroo show this year, basically Carl just kicks alot of ass these days.  He has taken his game to a HIGH HIGH level.

I love the camera shots on the Acoustic Chorale dvd also, they did a great job with where they placed the camera in the audience.....the blinking star, glow stick top hat, etc.......  I can't wait to watch the full length tonight. ;D  Fucking Beautiful.  That is all!!! :-*

I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

On a side note, what does Jim say right before he plays "Strangulation"

A. Drink Some Wine
B. Turpentine
C. None Of The Above

I would have to say "c" .  It sounds like he saying SAMSONITE.

Too true.

Bingo. I'm pretty sure he's singing the trademark 'diddy' for Samsonite (Samsonite is the world's largest maker of luggage, making everything from large suitcases to smaller toiletries bags.)... at least as soon as he did it, I thought of a commercial I had seen.

I think it's almost better than the Okonokos DVD.

I kind of feel the same way, probably because I've seen the songs on Okonokos performed so much more.  Still can't believe they didn't put "Into The Woods" out there.  I'm a greedy bastard.

Also,
I got teary eyed on Strangulation as well.  That is one emotional song.  Right now it might be my favorite of all the performances on both dvd's.

Yeah, Strangulation hit me hard.

I have to agree with what a tragedy it is that 'Into the woods' and 'the bear' are both missing... not on the CD, DVD, DVD EP, Vinyl, nothing at all... just seems like a total brainfart on someone's part to basically map a storyline around two or three songs, but then leave said songs out of the production.

Is there a reason why these songs were cut? Did someone mess up during the performance, or did the crowd yell too much? I'm at a loss.
