Indianapolis Show 11/25/06

Just got tickets to the show in Indianapolis at Butler University...this will be my 4th MMJ show but the 1st with actual seating which makes me nervous b/c I've always rocked out front row and now I'm stuck in 24th row.  :-/ Maybe this time I will get a good look at the light show though.

Anyone from around Butler U. know of any motels nearby we could crash at??

I live on the NW side of indy, but I don't know of any hotels/motels really close to butler. There are several downtown indy, they'd probably closest and nicest (but also most expensive). there are also places to stay at nearly every exit off of 465, which loops all the way around the city.

Can't wait either. this'll be my 6th show. I'll be rockin out in row S!

Anyone know of any hangout spots or bars to congregate after the show? We are driving from Cleveland and don't know the area but we do know we won't be able to just go to sleep after that show!

There's a nice little collection of bars and restraunts in Broadripple, about 10 mins north and east of Butler. Things are usally pretty lively there well into the evening...

If you go to Broad Ripple be sure and check out the Alley Cat, it has been voted INDY's best dive bar for very many years in a row.

Apparently there is a Travelodge 4 miles away from Butler.  Low rates = more money for shows!

I just got my tickets last night and got floor seats, row M.  Not bad for as long as I waited.

They've shaken it up this year.  They never opened with Wordless Chorus any of the three times I saw them.

Right on - Broadripple!  I've been there once and for Indy it was KEWL!  Okay... so the Alley Cat and Moe & Johnny's - sounds good!  We're staying at the Wyndham for $80 which I thought was a great price - it's one of the hotels recommended by Butler University because they're close to campus.  Whatever!  I already map-quested it and from the hotel to Clowes Memorial Hall it's 8.14 miles, only 17 minutes, so I can deal with that.  Now I'm going to map-quest the directions from Butler to Broadripple.

Two nights in a row after STARVING practically to death for 6 months!  Whew! I'm stoked!    :o ;D ::) :o ;D ::) :o ;D ::)

Not sure. Went to their site and was not able to find any info. regarding drinks.

YES, there will be alcohol served at the Indy show. Please be sure to visit the Rock for Riley and Riley Hospital for Children booths . There will be sick limited edition t-shirts and posters for sale!

Thanks...I was just wondering because I went to a show at IU and there was no beer served at the Auditorium.
I will definately check out the Riley Hospital booths!

I read somewhere in NUVO, an Indy entertainment paper, where Carl's dad used to play symphony at Clowes Hall...
Do you think they will do an Orchestra thing here in Indy??
I just recently found he had Indy Ties.  He was in Old Pike and Planet Earth..I remember them back in the day...they opened for Split Lip sometimes....
A guy I work with wants to open for Chevy Downs..another band that has ties to Carl....

Here's what I wrote down for the setlist...amazing night.  Only complaint would be the 2 bartenders they had at the main floor bar trying to serve a couple hundred people.  45 minutes for a drink...ugh.  By show time, all was forgotten...they ripped it.
