Athens Shows !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a surprise to see the band will be playing two nights in Athens, Georgia. To anyone thinking of making the trip, Athens is an amazing town and the 40 Watt a legendary venue. This is sure to be a must see. This was the first time I got tickets through the MMJ Community and it was a cinch. I am so freakin' giddy right now and can barely stand it. So much for working the rest of the day. Thank you for adding these shows; 2007 just keeps getting better and better.

The Grille-  Super hot, "Suicidegirls"esque waitstaff.  "Greasy spoon" diner food. ***** stars!

The Grit-  Uber-hippy"esque Vegan cuisine.  super tasty for food with no emotional scarring! *****stars!!!

What do you guys think about which night is preferable???  Is this the pre-festival warm-up??

Now how in the hell can I pull this off in the middle of the week? I saw The Jacket at the 40 Watt summer of 2005 and was probably the best rock show I have ever been to (can I get an amen Brian?). I hear you thinking .....Athens is so small,it's more like 10 minutes from the airport...really...Clarke Co is the smallest county in GA. The price could be way up there ...almost just as good to fly into the ATL and drive up 316 to Athens.

I am about to lose it.  Just unbelievable.  I attended church at the Sunday night Tabernacle service thinking that would be the last time I'd see my guys in 6 months or so, maybe till the 'roo.  And now they are playing 2 nights in my hometown!  Gonna be a pretty worthless Wednesday and Thursday at work that week for sure.

And as for travel and eats.  The Atlanta airport is right about 1.5 hrs away, and the Athens airport is right next to my house, maybe 10 minutes to downtown.  If it's decently priced, I'd go straight here to Athens.  Then I have to suggest Clock'd and 5 Star Day for food.  Clock'd is big old-fashioned burgers and fantastic fries, real close to the Watt.  5 Star is great southern cooking in a very cool building and location on Broad Street.
