I'm flying into chicago that weekend to go to a mets/cubs game and we will be having bachelor party ceremonies for my friend, who happens to be a huge pearl jam fan. I might be extending my trip, any idea what time the concert ends?

Trey told me all the music had to be finished by 10:00pm.  I hope they change that this year cause it really sucks.

My Morning Jacket to perform with Chicago orchestra
The Youth symphony will join band at Lollapalooza

My Morning Jacket are set to perform with the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra at this year's Lollapalooza festival taking place in August.

Following their collaboration with the orchestra last November, the band will again invite the orchestra to participate in their set at the festival taking place in Grant's Park, Chicago.

The orchestra features musicians from as young as aged seven and according to My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James "It is hard to even think of them as 'youth.' Their playing is so 'grown-up' and professional. They hit with diamond-like precision."

My Morning Jacket play Lollapalooza on August 5.

My Morning Jacket Comes Symphonic!
Fred Mills
May 8, 2007
At their August 5 performance at Lollapalooza in Chicago, My Morning Jacket is planning to collaborate with the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra (CYSO).
The CYSO was founded 60 years ago and taps the talents of the world¹s most respected professional musicians to teach orchestral and chamber music to students between the ages of 7 and 18, drawing audiences of up to 40,000.
Vocalist Jim James enthused, "The Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra! It is hard to even think of them as 'youth.' Their playing is so 'grown-up' and professional. They hit with diamond-like precision. Pow! I have enjoyed performing with them and look forward to doing it again, Lollapalooza-style! Bam!"
Incidentally, it's not the first time to the classical well for MMJ: in November of last year, they played with the CYSO at The Riviera in Chicago, while in June the Kentucky-based group performed for two nights with the Boston Symphony at Boston's Symphony Hall. They also played in front of a national audience a couple of weeks prior to the Boston shows on for the David Letterman show, appearing with a stripped-down (13-member) version of the Symphony.

As we get closer to show time we should establish a rendesvous point for a little pre-show bash, Starting friday and ending  monday :). I took off work friday and monday. I figure I'll need a day to recover. 8-).

Hey I know this is the wrong spot to ask this, but does anyone have a taping of one of the orchestra shows?  All I've heard of them was the Boston Pops show on youTube, and it was really low quality.  One of you guys tape Lolla!

Jernigan

No tapes have surfaced, but I shot a couple of crappy videos with the CYSO
from that night that are on here somewhere.

If anyone here who's going misses The Hold Steady for Regina Spektor (on Day 2), I'll be more than dissapointed.

It was only an hour last year - but what an hour it was!

You know this scheduling means that there's a high possibility for a Eddie collaboration on "It Makes No Difference."

:D
But seein you feels good, and its always understood.
