Thursday, October 25, 2001 (a date which shall live in infamy)

Well, to quote Neil Young, "tonight's the night" - the six year anniversary of my first-ever MMJ show, a life-changing event for me.   I am sure that many of you view your first MMJ experience as a life-changing event - I mean, that's not just hyperbole, is it?   Maybe to the uninitiated, but not to we Knowers, right!?!?  I taped the October 25, 2001 show and it's available on one of these servers.  And if you can't get it from here, I can always burn it for you for b&p's - it's still easily in my top five MMJ shows.
I have been trying to get my friend Brad 'Sitter' Tarrant to compile my first 'travelogue/novella'' and put it on his website.  I called it 'Here we are in the Years' - another Neil song.    I followed them around in 2002 and saw either them or Jim 20 times between Jan 23 and Sept 26 of '02.   I gave them these stories at shows on the road.  Anyway, I'm not sure how it's coming, but I wanted it to coincide with those shows that Ger has been putting up on the server.  I think that five of those six that I taped from March 18 in New Orleans to March 24 in Greensboro are already up.  But he hasn't gotten it done yet.  It'll befuddle some of you, anyway, it's not very well written, punctuation/sentence structure-wise.   But I still remember it as an incredible time - having witnessed their brilliance during the live show and buying TTF and AD six years ago tonight and then decided to follow them around on vacations during 2002.  It was great.   Anyway, I'll send that link to the website once Sitter gets it done.   I know that I have some pictures somewhere from that tour, but they were 35 mm.  I'd have to get him to scan 'em and they're not very good, anyway.   In closing, I'd just like to say thanks once again to these brilliant musicians.  Their music, their personalities, their overall being and the way that they treated me and all of we other Knowers has enriched our lives in many ways.   Long live MMJ!!   You never were a drawback, always were an asset.
