I go to school in western Pennsylvania, and I am currently unhappy with the bands my school chooses to play. so i am trying to get numerous students to send emails to the entertainment department, about booking My Morning Jacket to play.  How small is the chance that if the school is willing to book them would they agree to go.

depends on how many Hot Groupie Babes are willing to put out for Tommy....
God damn those shaky knees.

I live in TN and I know Vanderbilt has gotten some really good bands to play there (Modest Mouse, Clap Your Hands, MMJ) you may want to contact them to see how they go about doing it.

If you can't get MMJ I know this band out of Knoxville called "Hey Girl!" that would R.O.C.K your campus.  They are sort of a fresher more experimental version of MMJ and I've heard they admit all sorority girls into their shows free of charges.......as long as they leave their panties on stage at the end of the show.

Good Luck!!

They did play at Northwestern University on 4-22-06.
I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

And it was fantastic,  Neko case and the new pornographers, Stephen Malkmus & MMJ.
They played in a small gymnasium. And if I remember correctly it was not even crowded.

my school gets bad bands (at least in my opinion) like new found glory and senses fail, and they had T-Pain the other night

I really dont know if this is a good thing?  I dont think that a bunch of pantyless sorority girls are the type of crowd that I want to see music with.  On the other hand I do think that is the type of crowd that i could have several shots with.

just my .02

I got "Hey Girl" to play at our family reunion this spring and it was off da' hook! The neighbors are still complaining!! Those fuckers don't take any prisoners and our old golden retriever Princess gave birth this week to a litter of pups that were a spitting image of the lead singer. I got some pictures here, somewhere...

WOW!!! You must have the coolest family ever.  I wish I could see that picture, but it's not working :(

I feel your pain, some fans that aren't REALLY familiar with the band often make the mistake of letting the lead singer "Crash" on their couch after shows......Maybe you shouldn't have let a horny dog named Princess that has a tendency toward licking balls sleep in the same room with him.  >:(

this is some funny shi*t and i really dont know what's going on....
If you're lucky, MMJ will fill the void you didn't even know you ever had. If you're luckier, you'll get to see them live.

Yep.  Not only was it a great show, but because I was a student at the school, I got in for $10.
