My fingers are crossed for the Ryman.
So soon after payday, know it seemed a shame!

Considering all the craziness that occurred today regarding the Radio City show I also thought to myself, maybe these guys need to start playing bigger venues.  But Radio City is famous but not all that huge at about 6000 when you think about it.  These guys are obviously beyond that, but NYC standards don't necessarily apply everywhere.

Anyway I wondered does anyone happen to know the biggest indoor venue MMJ has played as a headliner?  It will be interesting to watch the upcoming tour shape up, and where they will play.  I don't think they open for anyone  in most cities except on festivals etc.   I think the cat may be out of the bag on this band.  I got a feeling that this next tour will be very much like the last Panic tour, which would be a perfect tour size, I'd be great  with that.  Big where it needed to be, small where it needed to be.  Im not a huge panic fan, but I have found it interesting that they played bigger venues in the last couple of years.  I remember them playing small places only a few years ago, now Panic seems to be such a huge draw at festival shows, but when they headlined in at the Chevy in CT last fall it was only about half full.  It holds  <5000.  My thought is that is how it may be for these guys next.   Huge some places not so big in others.

I do hope to God they can headline at the Chevy in CT, its my local mid level venue.

Quotei guess no more "general admission" shows....dammit!!!

Nah. I've seen bigger bands than MMJ play gen admission shows.

They really should come back to Charleston.  8-)
In another time, in another place, in another face

QuoteI'm just sure they'll finally come here this year:

Cain's Ballroom - Tulsa, OK
I'll be seeing Wilco there for the 2nd time in March - the place would be packed for the Jacket too!

YES CRISPY! ;D ;D ;D ;D

I was wanting to go to that Wilco show in March, but couldn't get tickets in time so I'm going to Houston the night before.

I wouldn't mind seeing them at the River Parks Amphitheater in Tulsa or the Zoo here in Oklahoma City.  MMJ PLEASE COME TO OKLAHOMA ;D ;D ;D ;D

Yeah! Rise up fellow Okies and stand for your MMJ live rockness rights!  :D
The zoo would be sweet - plenty large enough to accommodate any MMJ crowd and it's easy to get close. I saw the Flaming Lips show there last year and it was great. I haven't been to River Parks yet, so I can't vouch for that one.

QuoteTheater shows are nice every once in a while.  I'm with Tracy though, general admission shows without seats are better to fully experience the rock.  I bet they'll play Music City Hall in Nashville again.  We just got a new place here in Knoxville called the Valarium that is similar to Music City Hall, I think that would be a good venue for them.

We were there for New Year's Eve Brian!  (Scott Miller & The Commonwealth & Mic Harrison & the High Score...we're [obviously] huge fans..).  I totally forgot you lived there.  That was a pretty nice sized room...reminded me of the Orange Peel in Asheville, NC.

Quotecooler still? Playing the parking lot of a used car lot; like, a really cool
used car lot with super bargains and old muscle cars and like Gremlins and
Pacers and Pintos and Vegas and a huge giant blow up gorilla and the strung
up flags and what not and cotten candy and showgirls and sno-cones and
cigarettes and pronto pups and one of those huge 5 story aluminum slides
that get molten hot in the afternoon sun and a guy on stilts...
This could be good.    ::)

that wouldn't be good that would be fucking GREAT!!!!! To top it off the band could wear cheesy 70's leisure suits like the ones Kurt Russell wore in the film Used Cars ;D ;D ;D
the fruit bats love makin' made all the kids cry

Not entirely sure why these dates haven't been confirmed yet. Maybe when I wake up tomorrow morning? Yes that's right, just like Christmas!

hm.

ok, i would love to see them play massey hall here.  BUT, you gotta sit (i'm not good at that), and the sound is not always the greatest.  the guvernment was a good size for them back then, but the vibe there doesn't live up to them.

we also have a bunch of cool churches and stuff that people make into concert halls.  the opera house or the horseshoe would be amazing, but i think they're too big for that, now.

UNLESS THEY DID A WEEK LONG RESIDENCY LIKE LOTS OF OTHER ARTISTS HAVE DONE, LIKE, SAY, JOEL PLASKETT WHO PLAYED THERE FOR A WEEK, ONE OF EACH OF HIS ALBUMS EVERY NIGHT.

just a thought... ;)

There is an amazing venue here in Flagstaff AZ called the Pine Mt. Amp.  It's an outdoor venue, surrounded by forrests, brand new and would be a perfect fit for the jacket on a beautiful Flag summer night! Check it out!

Red Rocks (headlining) would be sweet  :P

After reading these posts, I can feel the envy running through my blood!

Spare a thought for us die hard fans, down here in Australia!  I don't think i'll be seeing an MMJ tour for quite awhile.

But if they did wander down under, the Belvoir Amphitheatre, Perth W.A. would be awesome.

Im loving all the OKies on here!!! They definitely need to come.  I dont care if it[ch8217]s the Zoo, Caines, or on Grand Lake... The boys need to come by Oklahoma and see the support we will give 'em!
Turned on some music to start my day
I lost myself in a familiar song
I closed my eyes and I slipped away
