I predict about 3 or 4 songs. Their last gig was Bridge School, and it's been a few months. I'm guessing most of the kinks have been worked out of the new songs, as the album seems to be nearing completion (if not completed). But they only played one new song (which we'd heard before) at Bridge School, so they won't spoil the whole album for us.  ;)

I wish I could do the drinking (not old enough) or go to the show (not enough freedom/resources), but alas, it is not to be. I want there to be as many new songs as possible so I can hear the bootlegs, but I'm bracing myself for anything, and I really want there to be a lot of surprises on Evil Urges.  :)

i got word that i have work starting mid-april running thru august.  realizing that this would disrupt any roadtip/music touring plans for the summer i just had a flurry of decision making, ticket purchasing to see shows before work starts.

i'm certain we won't be disappointed. at this point, my only let downs stem from the general public's lack of enthusiasm for this, the first jacket show since they've been immersed in the process recording of the new record. its not radio city, but it could prove to be even better than that show. lets do our parts to keep the energy high for the boys as they try out their new stuff. we may determine the tracklist for evil urges, y'never know....

first time posting here....i'm coming to houston from SF to see mmj for the first time!  i just got into them a year ago and this is the first show i will be able to attend (i got tickets for rcmh too!)

so, where do we meet?  the venue?

i just realized: my flight is scheduled to get in a 8pm, and according to the website the show starts at 8 as well.  I'm highly doubting that, but what do you guys think?

my guess is that yo la tengo will go on no earlier than 8:30 and play a 45 minute set. i bet you could get to the venue on time to see mmj play their first song, at least i hope so.

if you play it safe and figure yo la tengo on at 8pm, mmj will likely be on at 9pm.

if, IF you can get an earlier flight, try to do so.  if you can't, just hustle yo'self to the venue straight from the hairport!   bonus points if you don't have to check your luggage!
do some research ahead of time to get the best route, and best parking info.

mmj will likely play 2 hours, so even if your flight gets in at 8p, you're seeing the show!   [smiley=beer.gif]

i changed my flight!  costs $115, not going to risk it.  and i'll be carrying 4 bags 'cause I'm going on the business trip the next day!  I'm staying 2.5 miles away at some cheap hotel.  Guess most of my time will be spent at the venue, unless we got a post or pre gathering?

danz, i am without reference in houston.  how cheap is the place you booked?  i'm heading there thursday and still havent' booked a place.

(my dsl went out at home today so i'm sitting in a cafe looking at hotels online tonight.   ;D )

thanks, all!  i booked a place through hotwire, so i got a good rate.  not super close to the venue, but that's alright considering i'll be here for a few days.

tonight i'm staying out by the hairport b/c i got in late.  (still awake at 3am houston time.  argh.)
