Anybody else see this?  I would give both my nuts to make it there from Alberta.

EC

ooooh.
i guess we're prob not allowed to get excited until there's officiality on the shows page.
so i won't get excited thinking that if you're gonna cross the border you might as well make the best of it and tour the country.
nope.  won't be thinking thoughts like that.
i'm thinking, instead, about vests.

Dorothy_Mantooth

EC i'll make you like 30,3490^0,990 vests if i can come sleep on yr floor. i'll sleep on a bed of vests. and wear vest-like shoes

hold on, let me investigate the options...

whothrewthecake

well dang if mmj is returning to canada then i guess the texans must also return. AND THIS TIME I WON'T END UP IN THE ER I SWEAR.  8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

Dorothy_Mantooth

yeah you might, except this time we'll know TO GO TO THE BBQ O.R.
"[Adrien Brody] is a big hip-hop fan and plans on becoming a producer. He is being mentored by RZA."

EC

i think we actually have a decent bbq place here, now, although i haven't been able to go, yet.  the hospital is NOT a good bbq place, and this time, let's avoid it AGAINST ALL ODDS.

you guys better'n not be just throwing this shit around, you know, a girl could get really excited. ;)

also DISCLAIMER: MMJ HAVE NOT ANNOUNCED ANY KIND OF CANADIAN TOUR, OR EVEN OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCED ANY CANADIAN SHOWS, SO WE ARE ONLY DREAMING IN THIS THREAD, SO DON'T ANYBODY GO AND GET ALL EXCITED OR BUY PLANE TIX YET (unless you want to come and visit me, in which case, yes.)

Cameron

I actually overheard one of the band members at SXSW talking about going to Canada.  I think you can get your hopes up!

I dont know, the festival show looks pretty official to me.  Even pollstar is saying they are on the bill.  http://www.pollstar.com/news/viewnews.pl?NewsID=9643

Keeping in mind, bands can cancel of course  :-/

Interesting festival lineup too, minus Interpol. Nova Scotia's Wintersleep and British Columbia's Black Mountain are two of Canada's best up-and-coming rock bands. The Tragically Hip has the biggest domestic fanbase on the festival ticket, but having Coldplay, The Lips and NIN guarantees an all-round big turn-out.

Kinda getting off topic now, but i saw Wintersleep a few weeks ago and i definately will not hesitate to see them again.  They didnt go on stage until about about 11:30 because they were stuck in the airport and they still brought it until just about 1:45 in the morning and they had to be in Vancouver the next day.
There are alot of great bands in this lineup.

Jaimoe

I'd wager if American MMJ fans heard any of Wintersleep's albums, many would be immediate fans.

lolzone, Vampire Weekend being in a festival line up is now happening with pretty much the same frequency as the pope's appearance in a catholic church.

p.s. on the Rad Passport News tip, the u.s. gov is issuing passport cards to u.s. citizens who travel between north american countries. that's a pretty neat idea but they can only be used if you're crossing the border by car (or foot i guess). we've supposedly been to the moon and invented undergarments that can slim your ass down about 8 inches, but it's taken till 2008 to get this idea of a plastic i.d. card out on the table.

hey did anyone check out that rant i just made. that was tight. i feel like doing a whole bunch of these:

OMYGOD  i just got a totally BRILL idea. what if the album cover for Thrusting In Your Face was the above animated gif in a hologram form. except get Bo to do it please. SQUAT THRUST IN YOUR FACE. in all my excitement i just hit the help button on my keyboard and have like a billion^333439k windows open. NO i do not want a $100 gift certif to the olive garden. OKAY i'm driving this speeding train off topic so fast, someone save me. it's really late and i'm listening to a smooth disco jam by Taana Gardner.

seriously, i just abused this thread as if it were my own blog. my apologies. actually, apologies to everyone except EC, who i'm betting 10 to 1 needs a new set of pants by this point.

i think you should totally take the olive garden gift certificate, and then when i'm in tx next (or wherever) we can go to the olive garden!!  why wouldn't you want to take that?

this thread is making me realize that i need to eat better and get more exercise.

a hologram cover is AMAZING!!!  now, if it were also a sticker, like that you could put on your wall or guitar case or (if it's bo and it's you) ceiling, then i would need to purchase a second new pair of pants today.

man i'm starting to feel REALLY GOOD ABOUT THE SUMMER.

Dorothy_Mantooth

Quoteman i'm starting to feel REALLY GOOD ABOUT THE SUMMER.

hey remember that time you told me that it would take 5 days of driving to get to that festival? that kind of makes me sick. except i think we should rent an RV. cake would be all over this. if i got to RV all over canada for the summer i would LOSE IT.

and is this really the time and place to discuss the pictures i put on my ceiling above my bed???!?!?!!!!?!?!? ;o8df i'm never giving you a tour of my house again.
