Remember when... My Morning Jacket took the stage at 12am, and opened with Evil Urges and like 4000 glow sticks got tossed into the air setting the mood for one of the most magical nights of my life?

Remember when...they played Easy Morning Rebel and Jim sang the lyrics "He'll be the water if you'll be the wine.
Sent down from heaven in this earthly disguise" and everyone had their hands to the sky embracing the heavenly waters coming down on our fragile bodies?!

Remember when....they played Run Thru and a giant mosh pit broke out infront of the sound board...and once it was done, everyone involved embraced and hugged each other as if we had been best friends for a life time?

Remember when...it was my friends first MMJ show, and she left looking at me speechless, not even knowing how to begin to put to words what just happened?!?!

Remember the greatest show of our young lives?!

Remember when......???
God damn those shaky knees.

one of the best non MMJ memories of Bonnaroo was Levon Helm smiling so hard at the opportunity to play the festival--he said he wanted to come back next year...he was just so damn happy to be there and his voice sounded awesome and then they broke into "long black veil"....great levon crowd!!

I agree about Levon's crowd. He got a hero's welcome...a roaring standing ovation doesn't even come close. What a set!  When he lit into "Ophelia" with the horn section, it was pure joy!

easy jim

remember when Jim's omnichord fucked up right before Touch Me Part 2 and it didn't matter because he just sang the bum bum bumbumbum with his throatchord?
So soon after payday, know it seemed a shame!

....I am listening to the show right now and I am remembering the goose bumps I had because they are back right now.....

....my remember when is when they started playing Easy Morning Rebel and I started freaking out that I couldnt even write it down on my set list till it was over......

LEvon's crowd was hands down the best crowd of the weekend, so appreciative.

Remember when it wasn't raining very hard during Gideon, and as the song got really intense, jim shouts at 2:20 on the Bonnaroo recording and so many glowsticks came firing out of this one area.  It just looked like streams of neon light shooting out of a cannon. The rain also came down a lot harder as the song got louder.

I swear they were controlling the rain that night.

Levon was the only show besides MMJ that I was for sure going to.  But I stopped by Iron and Wine for 1 song and could not leave for the whole set.  I saw the last 2 songs from Levon! so glad i saw the Weight!

BTW: Iron and Wine is fuckin' amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what a journey i went on!
God damn those shaky knees.

yeah i went to iron & wine before Levon b/c i had to check them out and they were hands down the band i was most impressed with all weekend, i def. need to see Iron & Wine again.  but i did leave after 30 minutes to head over to Levon b/c I thought he might bring out some special guests (even though I already saw him earlier this year).  i do kind of partially regret leaving Iron & Wine but I had such a good time at Levon.

the jacket show was pure ecstasy!! jj had the rain on a switch and could turn it off and on whenever he wanted to fit the songs....no really he did!!

it was def the highlight for me, but there were other great shows.

levon was great, the avetts before him were awesome as always. phil was good, pearl jam was sick. vampire weekend surprised the hell out of me and tore it down. mason jennings put on a great show. sharon jones and willie were classic. such a great weekend.

We were under a shade tree (poison-ivy-laced, of course) during Levon's set and we celebrated his pure joy. We could see him smile from on top of the hill. We the sun set and the stage was dark, we could see the moon shine off of Levon's smile. Very special, indeed.
