AMEN.  Love you long time!

The show was fucking awesome!  The music was fucking awesome!  The setlist was fucking awesome!  I'll remember different things from this show as long as I live.  When I'm 94 and infested with Alzheimer's, I will remember this show.  After getting back home and settling in (and fighting the miserable cold I have from the rain and the miserable sunburn on my forehead from the sun) I've read all the comments left so far.  All of them are accurate and right and I love revisiting through someone else's eyes and ears.  Some of the things that I remember are the little nuances that didn't necessarily involve the music, but the over-all mood during the show.

They seemed to want to be there as bad as we did.  I felt sorry for Carl when he was having all of those technical difficulties when his board went out...but the band rallied around him and knocked it out of the park!  When Bo was "off-duty" for the moment, he'd run back and get himself a beer.  I felt sorry for Jim when the Omnichord wouldn't work...but he came back with some "boop---beep-boops" to help take it home.  My favorite was during Cold Sweat when Jim said, "Do you want to give Patrick some?  I said, do you want to give Patrick some?"  And then he said, "I said, DO YOU WANT TO GIVE PATRICK SOME?!!!"  Then Patrick solo'd for a couple of minutes and then Jim said, "ALRIGHT, let's bring in a little bass with that SHIIIIIT!" and Tommy chimed in.  It was tough stuff.  It was also very strange, and the people I was with didn't quite see it this way, but I swear that as soon as they took their set break after OBH with Kirk Hammett, the rain stopped, and remained stopped until just after they took the stage again.  At which point it monsooned us until it was over.  It was even stopped when we were walking back to the campsite.

I don't know if y'all are getting my vibe here or not, but it's kinda like the getting pee'd on guy, above...I had a camel pack and my "big shot" camera, both very heavy, under a poncho, keeping track of the setlist, while trying to keep it dry, and my buddy faints during Easy Morning Rebel (not in a "groupie" sort of way--more of a "I'm a rookie acting like a pro" kinda way).  But I didn't let any of that bring me down because My Morning Jacket brought it, like it had never been brought-en.  And they were on it.  Their equipment didn't like the rain too much, but they put on one hell of a show.  And they fucking rocked my fucking face off!  And then rocked my fucking skull off!

It saddens me that I didn't meet anybody from the Forum, but like the other guy, I didn't want to be a dork to all the people who don't understand, but I didn't see a flag either.  Also I was on the stage-left side of the audience and the pictures above looked like they were from Carl's side.  Anyway, I regret not seeking people out (PennyLaneNYC) but I had a good time none-the-less and the people who were there know what I'm talking about.  In fact, some of you who weren't there know what I'm talking about.

yeah i was a little edgy throughout the whole show cuz the rain was coming down HARD and you can see it raining straight into them.  poor karl!! i kept thinking they were going to call it!

can't wait for Radio City, people!! (not to mention--all of you can start making NYE plans now;-)

love dog--i didn't see a flag either---i just happened to have run into people randomly...it was cool cuz i was by myself and it helped having a few people to share it with...

also, the cracker barrel (SP?) outside of manchester, monday morning it seemed like everyone leaving bonnaroo stopped there for breakfast. the waitress asked us what our favorite act was, we said MMJ of course, and she said 'you're the 10th table to tell me that!! everyone is saying that today!' that was a cool moment. i left a super big tip for that.

i can't come down--i was on the train this morning and i felt like i was still at the ROO. lol....i started bobbing and weaving to aluminum park on my mp3 player lol--i felt like that vegas commercial.
but come on...there's nothing sexy about poop. Nothing.  -bbill

WOW........ absolutely incredible,  I thought there was no way they were going to be able to top their '06 performance but what I saw friday night / early saturday morning has changed my life forevermore.  They played the best set the farm has and will ever see. It was as if it was a religious experience. As my good friend said, "I have never seen a band control the weather before."  I wanna know if they had rain machines or something, otherwise I now know who God's favourite band is.  No words can accurately describe the mood that permeated throughout that show, everyone couldn't help but dance in the rain with smiles miles wide. On top of all that I had the great honour and pleasure to watch the show with DANIEL, it was great to see a show with a forum member and know that this guy is in on it!!!! He knows!!!!!!  In between the songs, getting to hear his stories and tidbits about when the jacket were coming up in Louisville only made the concert that much more special for me!!  Probably the best night I have ever had, all thanks to THE GREATEST BAND OF ALL TIME!!!!!!!!!!

alright, so we're waiting at bonnaroo for the show (which we've established was one of the greatest of our lives) and we're sucked in by this looping melody that sounds as if it were plucked from the big lebowski playing on the loudspeakers. does anyone know who this is? perfect waiting music for the jacket, i feel like i need to know it to fully grasp what i went through that night...

blueskyink

Seconded.  I would really like to know what that loop was as well, we were all singing along, too bad I didn't meet any of you there, I was standing all by my lonesome self, but it actually was fun anyways.

I had almost just as much fun dancing before the show as I did at it.  It is off The Darjeeling Limited soundtrack and you can listen to it here:

I haven't checked this out..just passing it along as I'm passing through..  Sorry if I'm duplicating something already on the boards..

BTW..our friend Nicole Atkins is going to be joining MMJ on Conan!  Wow..small world.

"Here's a copy of MMJ's Bonnaroo performance. This downloaded from Mediafire at least ten times faster than Sendspace.

(Part 1) (Part 2) (Part 3) (Part 4)

Thanks to RT's spauldazzio for the link and the pic."

Thank god someone knew what that pre-set song was!  I listened to it for over an hour and it sucked me in big time.  I was fearful I would never know what it was.  That tune will always bring back good memories!
