QuoteHeres my 2 cents...

If you were at both shows you wouldnt have such a pressing need to shout from the rooftops that one "dominated" the other. People often compare shows but not in this manner. You dont even provide any discussion or comparions, just a list that states everything about Nashville was better, which one could already assume is your opinion since you plainly stated that Nashville "dominated".

That leads me to believe you were at Nashville but not Louisville, and the 10 page thread of people gushing about how great it is might have gotten annoying to you. I could understand that. I just dont see the need to push one show at the expense of the other. "Nashville dominated Louisville. Hands down.". OK...and?

I was at Louisville, but not Nashville. Which show was better? I dunno. I have no idea. What I do know is this band plays balls to the wall every time they take the stage, so Im going to go out on a limb and say both shows were awesome. I dont really feel a need to say which one was better. I dont really care. All I know is that Louisville was amazing and one of the best nights of my life. Im sure many others feel that way. Im also sure many at the Nashville show would say the same thing. And guess what? They'd all be right.

Sorry guy. Didn't mean to offend or shit on anybody's time in L-ville (I had a blast).  I think you're taking my post a bit to serious.

I was at both, Nashville was a better show.  I told you why earlier in the thread.  No need to elaborate...
No worries man, no one in the world can make me feel different about that show. If you were at both and you think Nashville dominated it, it must have been one helluva show, because Im still shaking from Saturday. Its a different experience for everyone though. Part of what made it so awesome for me is the fact that I flew 1400 miles round trip, visited a city Ive never been to before, and met some really cool people afterward. My experience was different from the 9,999 other people there. Like I said, no worries :)
Say friend, you got any more of that good sasparilla?

I was also at both shows and they were both amazing.  Each had their own "dominating" points and unique songs to each setlist.  for me, it seemed like the 2 nights fused into one final cut...a true, real life Nashville to Kentucky experience...and i loved every second of it.

next to the day i married my wife...friday night - saturday night was the best 24+ hrs of my life.

i literally had chills at different points in both shows....and get them now listening to the recordings.

haha at that kid that climbed the stage poles. My buddy was apparently standing next to a guy that said " oh shit...thats my buddy...I just bailed him out of jail like 5 hours ago!" People do such stupid stuff when they are in public  ;D

QuoteAnyone care to elaborate or send me in the right direction as to where I can find an explanation about this Dondante tribute talk?
I am also curios about this, Dondante is one of my favorite MMJ songs.

BH

Both sucked compared to Kansas City.

;) ;D
I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

I was at both....

The Nashville Crowd sucked!  It was like a JV game...amateur hour if you will!!!!  The band rocked out!!! It was just very hard to enjoy thanks to all of the kids talking!!!

Louisville sucked because of the lack of accomodations.  I mean my buddy had to wait in line for 45 mins because his date demanded more booze! 45 min waits for a damn drink!  Thats a shame!!!  Sucks for him. My lady friend and I got drinks before the show and decided that nothing was worth that kind of wait.  I understand why the city of Louisville did that, but it is a major pain in the ass for everyone there.

The crowd was great in Louisville though.  Once again the band ROCKED it out!!!!

I think that both shows were musically brilliant!  Good setlist....great playing and both with such passion!

This was such a fun weekend!  I wouldnt trade the experiences for anything.  I just wish that my fellow Nashvillians would learn how to watch a concert! >:(

All this talk of waiting in line for drinks is mind boggling to me. I couldnt imagine willingly walking away from my spot to get a drink. You couldnt drag me away kicking and screaming. Dont get me wrong, I enjoy a beverage or six, but not at the expense of the show.

What happened with this kid by the way?  It didn't even look like they kicked him out!  I swear I saw the big security guard HELP him down, then just put him back into the crowd.

Wow, both of these shows were amazing.  Can't stop 'playing it over and over again...in my head.'

Not to be diplomatic, seriously I think they were dead even.  I actually had an awesome crowd around me in Nashvegas and Lville.  Amazing people, all singing and dancing.  Had a better spot in Nash, but show was a tad longer and setlist a tad better in Louis.  And I am so psyched and lucky to have such quality tapings of both!  What a freaking trip!

The only thing that may put Nashville over the top were the fireworks coinciding with the extreme War Begun jam-out.  That was just magical.  And Wordless-Suspicious-Phone Went West was just a straightup dance party.  Then again Cobra and Run Thru in Louisville evened things right up.  Amazing.  I love these guys!  Somehow, they've gotten even better.

Keep on dreamin' boy,
cuz when you stop dreamin'
it's time to die.

Kris

Yeah, the security guards were pretty laid back.  I talked to a few of them after the show.

I went to both shows and i preferred the nashville show over the louisville show.
No offense to the louisville lovers, but i personally felt they put on a better show in nashvegas - the fireworks, man.
The setlist from nashvegas was a bit more varied, which i like: how do you know, nashville to ky, war begun, i will sing u songs (one of my favs!), mid-set mahgeetah (i know they did it ky too, but i had more of an impact the first night).
I also thought the crowd was into it more, but i was up front most of the show. It just seemed like loui was more geared for new fans (i got no problems with that) both in vibe and setlist (with the exception of cobra).
But, man, i had a blast a both shows.

Also, is it me or has JJ been working on the stage moves?  I saw a mid-solo guitar knee slide in vegas and stage-spanning knee slide during wordless in louisville!  The D would be proud. Again, i think we got a bit more of this in Nashville, tho.

Big ups to CARL - my nomination for MMJMVP of the two shows.  Playing better and more aggressively than i've ever seen or heard him.
You need it.  That's for sure.

Kris

I had my hands on the stage in Nashville and he did a stage slide right into my palms.

It was pretty epic.

YouAre_GivenToFly

I went to Louisville and it kicked 40 different kinds of ass, but I have to say after listening to "Nashville to Kentucky" I'm jealous.
The wind blew me back, via Chicago, in the middle of the night.

Angry Ewok

Dudes... I really hate to be a flip flopper... but the fireworks coinciding with the orgasmic peak of War Begun may have swung my vote in favor of Nashville. Plus, this show featured How Could You Know, which is, like, one of my favorite of the under-rated, rarely-played songs.
--- and that's 2 real 4 u.

Angry Ewok

This was too iconic. Nashville wins.
--- and that's 2 real 4 u.

Kris

Agreed.

It was divine intervention.
