Good morning Folks. First time poster. No-one seems to have mentioned the Manchester gig so I thought I give it a go. Amazing show, band on top form. What I wanted to mention was a moment during Dondante. There were a few guys behind me chatting during this song, and Tommy stolled to the front of the stage and just stared at them for fully five minutes whist playing the track. I was leaning on the stage and he was standing right above me. It was seriously scary. That man has evil eyes. The guys stop talking after he stared them down.

Highlights of the show for me were 'Highly Suspicious', 'Wordless Chorus' and 'OBH'. They also played an inpromptu 'Burmada Highway' as they were having technical difficulties.

p.s: Before the show, Carl was having some food in the pub across for the venue. If anyone is interested he had the Greek Salad!!

Setlist (right songs, wrong order probably)

Go Tommy!
Two girls talked through the entire first half of the show at the Louisville Palace a few years back.I finally said WOULD YOU SHUT UP and since I was considerably older and larger it worked.
Thanks for the review and setlist.
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection,
The lovers, the dreamers, and me.

Thanks for posting, G.  Nice setlist...
The trouble with the straight and the narrow is it's so thin, I keep sliding off to the side

travelled over to Manchester from Dublin for this gig, most enjoyable gig ive been at in a while. the setlist was pretty much perfect and nice and long.. thought the crowd were very well behaved, no talking where i was anyway.. much better than what im used to in Dublin

G

I agree Bren, the crowd were really good in general. The show was so loud that I couldn't hear talkers if I tried. It was only during the quieter moments at the beginning of Dondante that it was noticable. Also, I couldn't believe that this, or alot of the U.K shows were not sold out. There are alot of bands touring the U.K at the moment (Fleet Foxes, Band of Horses etc) who influenced by MMJ that are easily selling out venues at least comparable in size. Hype is so important in the U.K for getting people interested in bands.

Incidently, this was the first MMJ show I've been to and I just have to say that the performance of 'Wordless Chorus' is one of my all-time gig highlights from over twenty years of going to concerts. Jim's voice was sooo000 amazing.

I was there too. First time I've seen them live, won't be the last if I have any say in things. People talking all the way through and a seven tall bloke who came & stood in front of me were minor irritants compared to the music. Saw my 1st gig in 1971 and this rates as one of the best 5 I've ever seen. How they haven't taken over the world by now is a real mystery to me..... :)

Nice.

Wondering why their wasn't an Ireland gig this go around. Maybe scheduling conflict, but then again what do I know.

Yeah, soon the 15 percent of the crowd will catch on.  It sure shocks them when it kicks in and shuts them the f up.   :)

I noticed this too.  I checked ticketmaster the night before the Nottingham date and it didn't appear to be sold out - but it looked like it could've been on the night.  It said the capacity was 480 which seemed a bit far fetched because it's tiny.  Maybe 480 including the outside area and the bar outside.  I went to Band of Horses at Shepherd's Bush 3 days earlier and I think it was a sell out - as was the 2nd evening.

Was the Forum a sell out?  It's a bit of a shame BOH etc seem to be selling more tickets - as good as BOH are (they did put on an excellent gig) they're still nowhere as good as MMJ, expecially live.
