ms. yvon is the best person I've never met. I love your superlative laden gushing: And I quote....

without exaggeration:  i sing out loud the whole time i'm there.

holy cats.

i just about fell over:  sitting outdoors and drinking coffee or sipping a fantastic beer is something that i love.

...then she just stood in front of bo's keys and danced in the light with her eyes closed.

somedays some songs just strike a chord.  this was a catapult!

gorgeous tangerine

SWEET.  CRACKER.  SANDWICH.

New here and didn't realize I could post pics directly in the thread.  Here's a few of the better shots I got:

Nice pics Chester!  I liove the Dondante shot.
I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

crazychester

Thanks, probably my favorite as well.  Captures the feel of the song well, imo.

ms. yvon

great!  the pic with the orange lights, before the sun had set...guessing that was at dawn...

also:  you can see in one of them that tom is playing a bass with a sort of burnished gold face. i hadn't seen that before saturday.  also, carl was playing a black guitar with a metallic gold face on the weekend.  dan electro, maybe?  both of 'em:  SHARP!

-thank you, too:  gorgeous!  at one point during the song a young girl climbed onto the stage.  there was a moment as everyone looking to see what she was going to do...then she just stood in front of bo's keys and danced in the light with her eyes closed.  after it was clear she wasn't going to tackle anyone, there were some smiles from the band.  one of the band's crew whisked her off stage without too much ado.

For what it's worth, she was standing right in front of me down there in the front, and was back in the crowd with her friends about 3 minutes after getting escorted off stage.

Coincidentally, when Jim threw his towel into the crowd near the end (during Wordless Chorus, maybe?), she caught it.

kokua

^^ yeah....then she threw it back on stage.  My girl looked at me and say'd
"is she crazy?  You know what I would have done with it?  Never wash it." lol
I couldn't believe she actually threw it back.

ms. yvon

well, that's a nice ending.  she wasnt' so worked up that she had to miss the show.

forgot to mention that after the show i was hanging out near one of the edgefield bars, talking with some other fans. laura viers and tucker martine walked out of the bar and i went, "oh! hey! hi!" in absolute uncool, fangirl fashion.  ;D

i told all the people around me, "that was laura viers!" and they didn't know who she was. selective geekiness  ;)

Ms Yvon, your post on the show was beautiful.  Thank you for sharing your experience.

I feel very grateful to have experienced this show.  I was right up front, surrounded by groovy folks, getting hammered by the sound.

What a great way to experience the band for the first time.  Just amazing...  Definely a peak moment.

I've been to many, many shows by many, many bands (I was a pro soundman in a prior career arc) and this was right up at the top of the list.  Wow.
