Huge bummer though.  Had tix for months and did back flips to get Friday tix - ugh.  Was planning on heading north from St. Louis......

We love you Jim and hope for a full recovery.

To all of you worried about your tickets or missing the shows in Chicago, I say, what about Jim?  You think he won't be missing
the Chicago shows?  I'm sure he'd rather be recovering than performing!!!  :(

"Look At You" I'm sure she's watching over you Jim   [smiley=engel017.gif]

Of course Jim comes first! Speedy recovery to the Jim.

I know some of us might not have been surprised if he had floated off that stage, so reminders of his mortality are in fact endearing.

I got a credit on my flight and am keeping my tickets for now, hoping that the band will (1) announce reschedule soon and (2) it will be a time when it is feasible for me to travel.

Today is my birthday, and I have already made other plans to celebrate that don't involve the Jacket.

QuoteI am an older fan, saw Jimi in 68 here in Chicago, my first concert, ever

Was Jim James even born in 68???? I don't think so.

Jim - I hope you have a speedy recovery.  Try to get some R&R over the next few weeks before you head out across the pond.
He made it to the ocean, had a smoke in a tree.
The wind rose up set him down on his knee.
A wave came crashing like a fist to the jaw.

I'm pretty sure the poster is referring to Jimi Hendrix.

Love you Jim - Get better at your own speed. Saw you last week in Minneapolis, the second time on this tour. My wife and I were thrilled with the effort you and the rest of the band put forth. The combination of raw talent and pure energy you have been letting loose is the kind of stuff ledgends are made of. Best of luck for a full recovery!

I had no idea who MMJ was until Lollapolooza 2007 when they played a great show.  Live outdoors at Grant park in Chicago AMAZING.  I have been a huge fan ever since that show.

I had bought tickets to the Chicago shows and was really looking forward to seeing Jim and the band jam out.  I bought the tickets 5 months ago and to have this tragedy happen only 2 days before the concert is upsetting.

Jim I wish you a speedy recovery and hope the rest of the tour goes well.  Please make it back the the CHI as soon as possible.

Some posts about this situation seem to be quite strange. Many seem more concerned about "being bummed out," than JJ's health.
The Smashing Pumpkins are one of my favorite bands, and last year they canceled the Atlanta show because Jimmy had to go to the hospital. I was very bummed out, but the guys health far out weighed my disappointment. Again, I just thought it was strange, but maybe I'm reading to deep into some of these posts.

I agree, but people are usually self motivated, thus other people's health does not factor in to any extent.

We all have to be honest, MMJ is great to there fans.  I went to one show and I had the complete feeling that they wanted me to be there.  I go to shows and I don't feel any connection with the band.  I'm going to my fourth Kings of Leon concert in november and as far as there concerned they could care less about me or any other fan.  I'll never get there autograph or anything.

Jim James comes off like a nice guy and I think we owe it to this band to show our support instead of our self interests.

Hope you recover quickly so you can rock the shit out in 4 weeks in Berlin!!!

You also have to realize that this is the "Chicago is Postponed" thread, and clearly, people are going to be bummed out about a show they've been looking forward to for almost half a year being postponed.

The "Get Well Jim James" thread and the "Jim James Fell off the Stage" demonstrate that plenty of people are more concerned about his health than their own interests.
