1.) Does anyone know when the doors open??
2.) Does anyone know if MSG allows a line to form or do you have to pick numbers?
3.)How do we find out this information???

looking for advice from fellow forum members..
thank you ;D

as far as i know, the doors open at 8, there will probably be a line for the GA--i've never heard of the picking numbers thing.

i don't think anyone has this info (that you can call). maybe someone else on here can help.
but come on...there's nothing sexy about poop. Nothing.  -bbill

supposedly sections 1-6 are GA and then after that seats on risers (?) i would assume that section 6-10 are floor but roped off/w/seats. i tried to find out but had no luck--post it if you find out, please! :-)

The tickets say general admission on them. Judging by this, GA is in sections 1 through 4...

MSG did something for Bruce Springsten where all the GA ppl had to pick numbers then got to enter in numerical order as to avoid having a bunch of ppl waiting outside all day.  I dont know if this is the case for all shows... I have seen other shows there and never had to deal with this...someone else who has GA tix mentioned this to me that you could got from 2 to 6pm and get your number...

ALady

goldenlady, I like that number-picking idea a lot!  People waiting for hours in the cold = a cold, tired audience.

i'm coming from PA into NYC and for planning purposes need to know if that is really true...how can we find out...i dont want to be cold and or tired especially in my finest new years attire..

walterfredo

I could see waiting in line for hours if the whole place was G.A., but I'm not waiting very long at all for this one, if you got tix in GA, you're dialed, the section is relatively small....I'll be just fine anywhere in that area and will not waste valuable pre-partying time just to get a few feet closer to the stage.

The real question we need to ask here is...

How early do we need to get there to get a poster? And once we have the poster, what are we supposed to do with it while hanging out in the GA Pit section?

Anyone hear anything about a coat check?

I'm going there tonight to see Neil Young (also have GA Pit tix)... hopefully I can find out first hand about the coat check situation. I doubt I'm going to get there early enough to see how bad the GA line is.

ALady

Hi Edie,
I'm guessing they'll do posters the same as they have the rest of the tour - you pay for the poster before the show, and they give you a wristband.  After the show, you exchange the wristband for the poster.

No coat check at MSG per their website:

Have fun at Neil and Wilco tonight - my friends went last night and are completely gushing about it today!  I saw some video, too...great stuff!

hello all. 1st time poster.

as far as the seating situation, i would think that they would open the doors to everyone at one time. all tickets are either GA or assigned. i would think that there would be ushers at every corridor and section checking tix...so if you don't have a GA PIT ticket, you don't get in that section. it would be 1st come 1st served as far as how close you want to be.

as for the posters, if you are worried about whether or not there will be poster tubes available to protect them, you should be safe and bring your own. i've been to many shows where a particular merch/poster table have run out of tubes or just didn't have any there. it always makes me cringe when i see tubeless posters at shows b/c it's almost a guarantee that something will happen to it.

hope this info helps.

edierevolution

they give you wristbands in the GA section. Really hard to get in if you don't have one.

As for the posters... so they're not going to hold them at the merch stand and let you pick them up after the show?

I wonder if the posters will be at all the merch stands or just at the big one before you get in?

Word of warning to those with GA tickets, there is a separate entrance for GA which is on 8th Avenue and 33rd street. (there's a green awning). You might want to stop by the big merch stand at the main entrance (on 7th Avenue) before you go in. They usually have a lot more stuff at that one.

goldenlady

Hey Edie...i saw neil and wilco last friday in Philly...it was awsome...i can die a happy woman now that ive heard  Neil play powderfinger...

so there's a seperate entrance for for GA?? No number picking correct???

Sassbox

There was a separate entrance for the Everest/Wilco/Neil Young show on Monday.   Once you got in, they put a wristband on your hand then you proceeded to GA.

FYI, we got there at 5 pm for 7 pm doors and there were only six people in front of us.  I doubt that'll be the case for NYE, but maybe...
God sure baked a lot of fruitcake, baby.

Yeah, I saw your post... but then others were taking about bringing poster tubes and such. I'm hoping your right, I don't feel like holding onto a poster all night.

ALady

The poster tubes are for after the show   ;)  It's gonna be a long night!

this is wisdom. with a night like it's going to be you can have a lot of fun mingling with your fellow fans  inside that section instead of trying to keep stuck to the rail.
