Anyone feel like getting together after the show?  I suspect a few of you will be up for more excitement after the show ends!  We'll need a place to come together as fans and process this incredible event  ;D

Crystal Castles are playing a 2am show at the Music Hall of Williamsburg:

Benevento/Russo Duo are playing a 1:30am show at B.B. King's:

Ideally, it'd be cool if we could find a quiet little bar to take over...but I'm guessing there's not much chance of that happening in the epicenter of the Biggest Amateur Night in the Whole World?

Thoughts?

Or if you still feel like Rockin' and Drinkin'...

the world's greatest (and drunkest) Guns N Roses cover band, Mr. Brownstone, are playing "Appetite for Destruction" at 2am at Mercury Lounge. After they get through that album, I would expect a pretty long drunken encore of songs from "Use Your Illusion" and "G N R Lies" after they finish "Appetite".

If you've never seen them... they're a rawkin good time.

I was thinking the Duo would be cool, but at 2 am after a MMJ show, a GnR cover band might be just what the doctor ordered!
I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

ALady

Right??  I'm seriously diggin' that GnR idea...sounds hilarious and awesome!

That sounds pretty cool, but I'll tell you what Im going to do, because I did it every time I saw MMJ this summer: Im going to make plans to go somewhere, I'm going to leave the show on Cloud 9, running on pure adrenaline. Then in 20 minutes I'm going to crash and struggle to hold my head up until I arrive at a suitable place to pass out.
Say friend, you got any more of that good sasparilla?

Penny Lane

i'll probably be a debbie downer after the show because i plan on starting early at the ginger man and give it all i've got :-) i don't really do the kind of drugs that let me party from 3pm--3am.  the GNR thing sounds cool, though.
but come on...there's nothing sexy about poop. Nothing.  -bbill

Sounds to me like you've got a pacing issue.  It's really not that hard to stay awake for 12 hours.

pacing is not my strong suit ---come to the ginger man early and party with me from the hours of 3-7 --then MMJ and then PennyLAME. lol

I'm not coming down from Boston to go to sleep at 1... and since I know pretty much every GnR song by heart... I think I've got a new plan!  YOWSA!  (oops, I let my inner Axl come out too early)

I have friends who are going to attempt to get up to Benevento/Russo Duo....but we are going to head back to Brooklyn (due to "amateur night"....which I love that you say because my friend in Brooklyn refers to NYE in Manhattan exactly in that manner  ;)).
We have a private house party we may attend, but since we may not know too many people there, me and the hubs are going to get tickets to this:

Shit...for $9!  Soul?!   [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif] [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif] [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]

Ooooh, wizzard, that sounds awesome!  You had me at "60's Northern Soul, Motown and Go-Go Grooves".  YESSS!

This is getting to be a tough decision...

Wow, that Soul Party looks tempting....And just when I thought I was set with seeing the Duo.  :)

Depending on when the MMJ show ends, I may head back to Gingerman to recoup.  I've been hearing good things about the food at Stout (33, btw 6th and 7th) also.  And a quick peek at their calendar seems to indicate that they know that we're coming...http://www.stoutnyc.com/calendar.html

I'm not sure if they'll be letting folks into BB's early, but if they are Lucille's might not be totally crazy.

I know, right? When I think WWJJD (What Would Jim James Do?)...he'd be hittin' up that soul party!

I think you're right... :)

Might be able to hit the soul party directly after the show, then head back to BB's around 3 for the Duo...I gotta get a start time on that show.

The Bell House (http://www.thebellhouseny.com) is a SWEET venue, I must say. It's a little far out there though.  From MSG you'd want to hop on the F or R train towards brooklyn (obviously)...

Here's directions from their site:

"9th Street & 4th Avenue stop. Walk down one block down to 3rd Avenue and turn right. Walk 2 blocks to 7th Street and turn left. We are down the block on the right side."

It's maybe a 5 - 10 min walk from the subway station. There's nothing around there, so it's a perfect walk to smoke a doobie (if you're into that).

From MSG I'd say it would take you maybe 45-50 minutes to get there, door to door. Sneak a drink onto the train to keep your buzz goin'.
