NYE Pre-Show MEET UP- SUNSWICK 35/35

Howdy, I am having a pre-MMJ party. If you would like to attend let me know by PMing me by the 29th of December so the cooks know how much food they will need. When you arrive, you will pay @ the door. Here are the rest of the details:

-The party will take place @ Sunswick in Astoria,Queens (35-02 35th street is the address)

-Admission is $50 a head

-Open bar for 4 hours (3pm-7pm), which includes all beers on tap (25 beers on tap to be exact), 12 oz bottles, all well drinks, and first tier liquors. No cognacs and high end tequilas will be served. For the beer lovers ,you will often find these brewers: Bluepoint, Stone, Arcadia, Smuttynose, Sierra Nevada, Lagunitas, Sly Fox ,Brooklyn, Magic Hat and Dogfishead to name a few. They also will have Bud,Heineken, Coors, Corona, and so on in bottle for the non-beer snobs.

-Buffet will be open for four hours and will include Penne a La Vodka, Buffalo Wings, Quesadillas, Mozzarella Sticks, Chicken Fingers, Jalapeno Poppers, and salad.I can vouch for the food at Sunswick as being above average for bar food.  :)

-Rockband and Guitar Hero will be available for your rockin pleasure on a big screen during the duration of the party.

I copied and pasted most of that info. I accidental left out the time. It is from 3pm-7pm. I am not sure if the owner is closing the bar just for us, but it will be so dead in there at that time that it might as well be our private party. I went in there around 3pm last year to check out what they had going on later that eve and there was not a single body in there.

As far the Magic Hat goes, they do carry #9 pretty often, but it gets tapped out rather quickly. Right now I don't see it up, but they are continuously changing out their kegs, so there is never a sure thing what they will have exactly (all I can promise is that they carry some great beers :-)  ). The brewers I mentioned are just examples of what I have seen them carry on a regular basis. Right now they have a bunch of winter ales on tap from a winter ale party that had last week, so expect some of those mixed with regular beers.

Cool, I love the winter brews.  The Brooklyn brews are great, too - I tried their black chocolate stout the other day, and it was delicious!

Jared will be there to set up the Guitar Hero/Rock Band and the new bartender will be there as well. I am sure if needed he will hop behind the bar if needed.

Here is a sample of what sunswick has on tap right now. Some of these may not be there when we arrive, but this will show the quality of beer they have on tap. I will also say some of these beers will knock your socks off after 2-3 drinks  :D

Ah, good ol' Sunswick.  My old favorite bar.  I used to live on 37th between 34th and 35th.  Good times there... have fun guys and see y'all at the show.
