Great show, but cripes, what's up with the fratboy assholes who show up in the Pit and annoy and physically batter people, and make nuisances of themselves with their incomprehensible, inconsiderate behavior.   One date rapist prick actually took off his shirt while flailing himself around, as if he were the only person in the arena.  Security finally dragged him and his clueless buddies away, but they were soon replaced by another similar group of 22-year old louts.

I dig people having fun, doing their thing and dancing, but my lord, you're sharing space with other human beings, act like you understand that.  it's all so tragically ironic given what mmj stands for.

sorry for being a bummer, but these type of guys have become menaces at shows.

Douchebags! They deserve to get kidnapped, robbed, beaten and dropped off in Compton.

dg-ohio

unfortunately they are everywhere. unavoidable at times.  You cannot let that fuck with your show.  In Chicago this Dbag kept dancin on my feet, in my space and was all over the place- first show I'm sure but you must get past it. This happens when the band you like gets pretty big as they are pretty fuckin solid

treyoliver

had one puke all over 2 of my silk posters, i almost murdered that fucker. MMJ is getting almost to well known, it seems that more and more dbags are coming to the shows just to party and socialize, i couldnt even hear dondante because of the talking, awesome performance by the boys but terrible time at the show.

Penny Lane

yeah i was right in front of that shirtless date rapist. glad he finally got taken away
but come on...there's nothing sexy about poop. Nothing.  -bbill

Really? I didn't see him...

It wasn't only in the pit where they were taking up valuable life-giving oxygen and personal space.
It was my daughter's first concert ever @ MSG (she's 20) and she had her pocketbook on the unoccupied seat next to hers, this Ahole goes to sit in the seat & must've thought he was on oprah or something and it was a gift bag, riflin' thru. (my daughter's rookie mistake but c'mon!)
then, later he high - fives a fellow douchebag in the row behind & elbows her right in the NOGIN. after  tending to my daughter (she was more upset, than hurt, thankfully) I told her to tap douchebag #1 on the shoulder. when he turned around I shot off a flash from my point & shoot, stunned he says "what was that for"?
I said "so we can both remember what your face looked like before I fuck it up".
Him and his Ahole douchebag buddies were well-behaved after I planted that little seed...

Well played!

Bummer to hear about some less than savory elements in the crowd. Our little corner of section 12 was absolutely awesome. There was a very friendly group of people from Louisville who flew in and another nice couple in front of us. The 2 seats next to me were empty and I swear, about 50 people, all pleasant, friendly, and dancing their asses off, made an appearance in those 2 seats. Literally everyone I met at the show was great. Awesome, awesome crowd, at least in my area.

The pre-show meet up was great too, thanks for arranging it Penny. Nice to put some more faces to names.
Say friend, you got any more of that good sasparilla?

kinghenry

just as many inconsiderate non- "fratboy" , hippie douchebags that I've seen at 20+ years of going to shows, it definitely goes both ways

Hope you all were able to enjoy the show nonetheless....glad you got him with the flash.

my issues is with all the friggin cellphone cameras everyone holds up and you can't see shit.  how good is a cell phone image from the 30th row anyway? stupid.

off the soapbox....have a happy new year everyone

That is EXACTLY how I felt on Saturday in Chicago when I was up in the front and surrounded by douchebags who were talking, mock-singing, and spending more time at the bar than in the pit.  And people were complaining about others who were simplying SITTING in the audience and watching?  Seriously?  I will NEVER have any sort of respect for assholes who just show up to party rather than actually watch the concert.

Were they smoking cigarettes?

penny, i hope you dont mean me cause i was right behind you (actually, i cant recall being taken away.)  but a "white-hat" was hauled off that was definately WAY outta control.

i was disturbed with the glowsticks being hucked a the band.  i wouldnt have been as gracious.  what a classless display.

on a brighter note, cant wait for someone to post this show on archive.  both "move on up," "all i need," and "cold sweat" in my MMJ collection.

ALSO, lost my evil urges sticker!  if anyone has one, i would gladly compensate for keeping up on my sticker fetish.

The one that hit JJ in the head was awful...I was next to a glow stick thrower guy.  Nice enough guy, and he wasn't aiming for the stage, but still... ::)

i saw a douche intentionally aim for carl and when he hit near his feet, he high fived his friend. unfortunately, he was like 5 feet away, so that was a pansy ass throw.

i remember when i saw them play in jersey like 4 years ago at bamboozle (the guys even shook hands with fans before the show and seemed amazed people recognized them). When they came in with OBH and a pit opened, they said that was their first pit ever.

As ween put it, they went from playing to stinky hippies in a field in bonnaroo to a bunch of cruds in a parkinglot in jersey.

nah you were to my right side (and kept your shirt on) the guy was to my left and behind the dark and i a couple people back--i kept looking back-luckily everyone around him was getting really annoyed.

My friend and I ended up just leaving the area that these guys were in, for the first song they just kept knocking into us.  Moved over to the left side of the stage and had plenty of space to dance my ass off!

I'm glad to hear that they got kicked out!

We stood next to the garbage can and had more than enough room. It was nice.

I was in the same area - it was great.  Two younger college kids were in front of me, who I chatted with before the show.  Nice folks, and in general everyone was friendly.

I didn't observe too much douchebaggery, but I did see some dudes being jerks to security... who to their credit are generally cool, unless f'd with.  I don't understand the glowsticks being thrown at the band either.  It's just... poor taste.
