QuoteSame poster for both nights, duder.

actually the posters are similar but slightly different, sunday night poster features a lion more prominently and the ringleader has a blindfold on.

or maybe there were two different posters available both nights?  i dont know but in any case i ended up with two different posters

Shoot, seriously?  It looked like the same poster at a glance, and since the Saturday poster said "2 nights only"...oh man, revoke my poster nerd card!

Guess I'm in the market for a Sunday poster too, then.

Very good show. I was very pleased, as the last time, I was disappointed. You can read my review here: http://soundcitizen.com/my-morning-jacket-concert-review/

I stopped reading after the first paragraph when you said Jim hurt himself because he was drunk or high.

that review sucked.  nice to hear golden but the quality was not good enough to tell much.

manybe jim was high the night he fell.  surprised if he or anyone can get out there night after night and have thousands of hungry ones baying - it's a high and it's a hold - i'd be freaked silly - without some help of some kind.

he was spinning his wheels on this tour BUT he fell cos lights and markers were not on.

is the no smoking rule about smoking period or weed?

Speculating about what band members may or may not have ingested?  Crass.
God sure baked a lot of fruitcake, baby.

I read somewhere before where Jim said he doesn't perform high or drunk or anything like that. I hate saying that without knowing where the quote came from...can anyone back me up?

Indeed, it is crass.

Quoteno Dondante?  :-(  one of their best live songs...

As I said, the extended guitar solo in "Steam Engine" was the perfect alternative.

In that Jambase Band of the Year article, there's a throwaway comment from Jim, calling drugs "overrated".  That's neither here nor there, but generally speaking, they've never struck me as a particularly hard-partying group.  They barely even drink alcohol on stage.

Your song titles are a little off too, SoundCitizen; it's "Touch Me I'm Going to Scream Part 2" not "Touch me or I'll Scream Part 2".

Other than that, you know, glad you had a good time and errrrythang.

One of the worst reviews I have layed eyes on in quite some time.  I am a writer and you sir, should be ashamed.

James has also been quoted talking about how he has had some great experiences on hallucenogenics.  And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that! :D

That's why I said it's neither here nor there...  ;)

Crap. I knew I would end up putting my foot in my mouth...he didn't say exactly what I said, but it's implied, I guess. Crap:

"I'm into the power of altered states, and I've had a lot of really good drug experiences," says James. "But Miles Davis always said he played best when he was straight, and Jerry Garcia said that if he were on acid onstage, he'd rather be chasing a butterfly through a field."

Don't imply he fell offstage because he was high, that's how bad rumors get started.

ALady...I really enjoy your posts and errrrrrythang.  ;D

Ah, thanks for doing the legwork, ky!  I hadn't read that article before; interesting stuff!

And thanks!  I really enjoy your posts too, not least because of smart, no-nonsense statements like this:

A lie is not always a bad thing, as it must lead to a truth!

Just got back a little while ago, all I can say right now is wow, what a setlist (Sunday).  Pure bliss.  Can't wait to read more from others about the show!

One thought I remember I had from the show....

"I ain't never heard no COBRA like that."
I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

I hope everyone on this forum takes a pass on reading it.

I just wanted to thrown a big fat THANK YOU to the band and the fans at the Chicago Theatre last night. I can't believe we bought those tix way back in April. After the elongated wait the band delivered and delivered and delivered.

After reading many of the previous posts I want to report the people in our immediate area were all dancing, sitting, jumping, swaying, bobbing or just plain standing there. Regardless of how we reacted to the band we all had one thing in common. We were completely engaged by the music.

It's refreshing to go to a show to see a band who clearly loves what they are doing. It rubs off on the fans to create a special memory, like last night. A few weeks ago I saw the Smashing Pumpkins on the same stage and I left that show feeling dirty and unappreciated. Billy C. should see MMJ to try to recapture the fun in music.

Last night, my friends and I walked down State street with big smiles after 2 1/2 hours of masterfully played rock and roll.

Jim, I know you prob won't read this but I'd love see you guys play a room designed to look like the inside of your brain. What a ride that would be.

MMJ delivered, again. Thank you from the fans to everyone on the crew and in the band.

I don't think I'm taking a liberty to say we all love your music, effort, your blood, sweat, and tears.

Have a great trip overseas, a happy new year, and PLEASE come back to Chicago soon.
First MMJ show, Summerfest, Milwaukee 2006. Blew my morning mind.

That was the most retarded thing I have ever read in my life...

Due credit must be given to Sound Citizen for having the courage to post something so...retarded
