I wish I could just shoot down there for a few weeks.  Seeing MMJ in Australia would be bliss!

I love Australia (and Australians!).  I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to live in Australia for a year.....I literally lived at the base of Hanging Rock (yes, I did have a few Picnic's at Hanging Rock)

Yes Australia is an amazing place. Melbourne in particular... ;)

nth nsw and qld are the good parts of the east coast IMO

nickdavies7

Well you would rather live in sydney or melbourne than canberra, darwin, or at worst adelaide.

There's always one in every crowd...  (sadly, I'm one too)

Anyways, back to MMJ!!  Less than a week to go.
At my house, we call them uh-ohs.

Emma

yay, relatively new fan here too! I'm going to the Metro show, really looking forward to it!

maddon

QuoteShit yeah maddon. It will amazing. U checked out the Billboard website?
It says they are doing 2 sets. one from 9-10, the next from 10:30 - close. I know there is no curfew on the venue so hopefully close is 5am  :D

But in alll seriousness i think they will play until 12....hopefully...

I hear the Perth BDO has had some location issues?

Hey Bud,

MAte no curfew!!!!!   HELL YEAH!!!

Yeah Perth BDO has some location issues.  Turns out the BDO organisers didn't put in for a permit, and there's only one major concert allowed to be held at Claremont per year.  Anyway, the V festival got in first and BDO missed out.

All sorted now though, BDO got the green light.  So I can wipe the sweat from my brow!

Bring on the 40 degree heat, the sun burn, tokens for warm beer and a very cool Bermuda Hwy!!!!!  I'm camping at the green stage!!!! :o

walterfredo, i hope you mean port adelaide magpies, not collingwood. I am a geelong supporter...anyway there is another thread for this.

Well Billboards is a night club in Melbourne CBD, so there really isn't a curfew enforced. I think they will play until midnight. And that would equate to approx. 2.5 hr set. I saw Battles at Billboards last year, and to m memeory that show finished around 12:30, but they did go on stage around 11.

That's good to hear about Perth BDO. It would suck balls if it was cancelled. You would have to travel to Adelaide, or melbourne/sydney, which is like travelling from London, to Baghdad. Fuck that LOL.

RHCP snubbed Perth 2 years ago...bastards.

Yeah back again to MMJ. I think $50 to see them is sensational! I paid 80 to see, for example, Kings Of Leon (before they sold out and became shit), a few years ago. very impressive.

$50 AUS or $50 US?
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

So how come they're charging more than double that in Japan a week or so later?!!  ;D

Nevermind, such is life sometimes  :)

These shows were locked in a long time ago and the Aussie dollar was at about US0.95 when the shows were announced so maybe the ticket price reflects that.  Neil tickets were cheaper this tour than they were for the 2003 tour (which was a huge shock - I was expecting $200+ for those), and that includes having MMJ as support rather than the local (but good!) & cheaper support act last time he toured here.

Tour starts in Auckland tomorrow - anyone going?

Japan concert tickets are notoriously expensive! Like I said, such is life sometimes...at least I get good sushi  ;)

Nevermind...the Jacket are coming to Japan!!! (after Oz!)

I might go to Neil Young at Sidney myer Bowl. I will sit outside the venue with some beers and listen to some tunes. Anyone know what time MMJ hit the stage? coz i have cricket all afteroon. I have done it many times before and the sound is quite good, obviously not as great as if u were inside the venue, naturally.

Who is going to Neil Young at the Bowl?

I'll be there, should be awesome. I think I remember seeing that it started at 8.00pm - will have to check with my friend who has the tickets though. I'll be there right after work with a few (veiled) travelers waiting for the "doors" to open.
