Like 1/2 of last night wasn't any good. During this time I could only think about not wanting to be there. Jim did pull the night through. He is the clear ringleader on this badly planned tour.

It just dragged on forever in parts. Bight Eyes is in his Jack White stage right now. An addition like Jack could pull this draize train together. I'd like like half my money back.

Yeah, I guess I'm confused as to what exactly is letting people down??? I've heard badly planned tour and poor marketing/advertising. I guess I'm unsure as to what people are talking about b/c there's not specifics. Let us know!

So, I know better than to expect an MMJ show. I'm going in with hopeful expectations that hearing Ward and Oberst live will make things click for me.

OK, since we're making comparisons, I'm expecting this to be more like what I thought a Ryan Adams show to be like, and I'm expecting this to turn out like the Ryan Adams show I went to turned out.

Basically, expecting a mostly mellow, sit down, sip on a beer, relax, somewhat atmospheric show that turns out to be way more energetic and expanded than I expected. If that makes sense.

perhaps 3hours is just too much bad ass music for some people's ears, brains, and souls?

special tour = special shows = wish I was there instead of you because there is no possible way I'd have a bad time. did somebody piss on you or something? 30+ songs, 2 and a half + hours for like 35-50bucks? you don't find stuff like this happening anywhere else in the world right now with this caliber of talent be happy you got to partake in the experience. a lot of us don't even have the option of trying to catch a show.

Exactly! I thoroughly enjoyed the show in Portland. Granted I love YY and M.Ward, but never really heard any Conor Oberst/Bright Eyes songs. It was a nice treat to hear some songs I normally wouldn't listen to....(digging Soul Singer in a Session Band). And Jim's voice is so on...so angelic...so perfect!

I call a bad show bad when it is. Jim can be doing FAR BETTER that this MOF sillyness. I'll be pleased if the tour gets cancelled. It should Phoenix was AWFUL!

After 174 posts, I can't remember a single positive comment from fortbethel with regards to any subject. That's just his thing. So no worries.

Luckily it was important enough to have it's own thread, instead of going in the setlist/reviews/stories thread like everyone else.
