Please tell me where you bought the tickets.  I need to tell my friend this immediately!
I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

I got them on ticketweb and they sold out quickly. Apparently only 100 guests and everyone will have a seat (Pres Hall is pretty tiny).

I feel badly I didn't pick up a second in case someone needed one.

I promise you not everyone will have a seat. There are only 3 rows of seat there and they go very very quick.

yikes...just saw the news...please tell me this isn't sold out...

Shoot...crazy day at work and look what I miss.  If anyone has an extra that they can part with, please contact me.  vachelle at yahoo dot com.

Is anyone else trying to picture the PHJB and all five members of MMJ crammed up in there?  Holy crap!  If you don't have a ticket just be sure you are holding a giant hurricane right outside the door at about 11 pm!

Had a ticket in the cart this afternoon, hesitated, and lost it.  Had to mull it over just a bit because of the price tag and I blew it.  Oh well, my own fault..... would have had one had I just purchased it without thinking.  Rest assured I'll be hanging out just outside though.  I suck.

I think there's going to be a very large crowd outside that night.  If I get in, well that's where I'll be.  If I don't get in, I'll probably head elsewhere after a song or 5.  :)

I have been to a bunch of the midnight shows at Preservation hall during Jazzfest and and MMJ will probably only perform 6 or 7 songs. These shows are typically pretty short but well worth it! Often the bands hang out after the shows outside in the court yard. Also I strongly urge anyone who does have a ticket to get there early the place gets packed and it can be very hard to see.

I am doubting any extra tickets will become available but I am going to keep trying. I keep checking the ticket site about every half hour in hopes they release a few more.

The Ticketweb site says "11:55 PM CDT (11:30 PM DOORS) to Apr 25, 2010 1:30 AM CDT".  I wonder if that means anything in regards to set length.

It does. What will probably happen is that Preservation Hall Jazz Band will perform 5 or 6 songs. Then MMJ will perform 6 or 7 songs. Then they will combine to perform 2 songs.

This was the format for Del McCoury/Preservation Hall last year and Kid Koala and  Preservation Hall Jazz Band  in 2008.

I'm hoping that something works out and I get to squeeze in.  Great suggestion on checking back for tickets.  I haven't done the Midnight Preserves shows before.  I like to go to Hall during the daze between when it's less crowded.  But for MMJ in that setting, I'd happily be crowded.  :)

There is a post of the New Orleans craigslist offering two tickets for 2500. Dear MMJ and Ben Jaffe it is time move this show to the Mahalia Jackson theater!  I like that they are trying to do a small show at a very special venue and I hate complaining because I don't have tickets but the draw for MMJ is just to big to do this size of a venue when there are an extra 50k people in New Orleans.

In the very least, cancel those tix and resell them to me.  ;)  Looks like the MJ Theatre is open all first weekend.  Maybe another announcement is yet to come.

I totally understand some people are upset because they did not get tickets (I would be as well). Having said that, why would you want the show moved from the legendary PH to a larger theater because you didn't get tickets? To me that sounds pretty selfish. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see a band like MMJ play an EXTREMELY intimate show! The best band in the world is playing a show for a 100 fans!! Thats a good thing and a major reason why they are the best band in the world imo, because they do stuff like this. Be happy for those who were lucky enough to get tickets.
This feeling is wonderful, don't you ever let it out.
