Just Ridiculously Happy Right Now

Got to work today and knew that it was going to be a crazy Monday. So, I cued up 54 MMJ tunes on my Ipod -- mostly live stuff that I've downloaded but haven't bothered to rename properly and got through the day. Followed it up with a bunch of Morphine (man, I miss that band.)

Had to run for the bus to get home, but I made it. Got a seat and thought to myself that all I really need is to just be outdoors dancing in a field listening to MMJ.

I get home, eat some dinner, and then get a text about MMJ playing my favorite event, the New Orleans Jazz Fest. And, another friend of mine who's in the know has confirmed that other dates are scheduled...

I am just so ridiculously happy right now...I wish I could share this feeling... :)

I think the best way to share your joy is to RUB IT IN THE REST OF OUR FACES

I only say that out of insane jealousy. We're hoping to mini-honeymoon in New Orleans, but we'll be 6 months too late.

No offense meant, of course. I am hoping that a lot of the board folks can make it. Jazz Fest really is a stellar event.

Hmm, maybe you'll be able to come for just a weekend. Pre-mini-honeymoon?

When you say that "other dates are scheduled" do you mean that the dates of the fesival are confirmed or more MMJ tour dates are confirmed?

Is jazz fest a full week long event? Any predictions on what days MMJ will play? I was thinking about talking my wife into going but we couldn't do more than 2-3 nights.

and I am now (greedily, Imight add) hoping that they do play a night time show during the festival. Or that they are able to hang around for a bit to enjoy themselves. :)

Thanks, BH! Jazz Fest runs over two weekends. The first weekend of the fest runs from April 23rd to April 25th. Second weekend is April 29 - May 2nd.

I'm thinking that MMJ might play first Friday (April 23rd), but that's not based on anything other than a feeling.

Maybe you and your wife could do Friday to Monday? It's a bit of a whirlwind, but would definitely be worth the effort. Airfare will likely be spendy, but I'll try to post any of the priceline/hotwire hotel deals that we find here. I've managed to stay in some very nice hotels for $50/night for the Fest. :)

I don't know if we can afford it while saving for the wedding...I wish, but I also have to save my money in case we get a NY area show.

Still, the whole thing looks awesome and I'm just jealous

I just booked my flight. I've decided to do only first weekend this year (only the 2nd time in 21 years I haven't done both weekends). It's just too hard to be away for 12 days with these animals and I've got a lot going on this year, including something so, so awesome which should be confirmed within the next day.
