Attached is a summary of the setlists from these 9 shows.

Songs in green were played in 3 or fewer shows
Songs in red were skipped in 3 or fewer shows

What looks best is obviously a very personal opinion.   I only saw MPP and am very happy with the Setlist Gods.

Would have liked to have seen:  Lowdown, Masters Voice, Where to Begin, At Dawn....come to think of it, 4/28 South Carolina looks pretty tasty, but a show without Anytime would be hard!

Comments?

Song most wanted to hear not played at any show?   PWW for me - I know that's a pretty mainstream call, but can't get enough of that song live.

Love Dogg

Still waiting for Masterplan my damn self.   :-/

BTW-Great work mahg33ta!

WOW!  Well, well, well look at this!!

For me, would have totally loved Bermuda Highway!

Also agree that Phone Went West is a super fun song and would love it!

Totally content and thrilled with the delivery of each and every song.  I just don't know how these guys rock SOOOOOO hard without stroking out!  Magic!

Too many to choose from, but I would have loved to get on of the following:

PWW
The Bear
War Begun
X-mas Curtain
Alive or Just Breathing

wakebord

dancefloors is my hands down favorite and i missed it in st. aug.  but getting the two MOF covers and steam engine was great.

Honest Man

I would have loved to hear Easy Morning Rebel with the horns, but other than that - Phone Went West, War Begun, Dondante, Heartbreakin Man, The Dark and for God's sake will you please break out Honest Man!

Honest Man

I must say though - Carried Away really caught my ear. What a great tune.

Neat chart you made there. Reminds me of wilcobase.

nice work!  apart from the 1st night, i tried to avoid set lists for the rest of the shows leading up to mpp.  i was curious, of course buti dunno, it felt like cheating or something.  it's great to look back now & compare.

if i had to chose songs i wish they'd played i'd prob have to go with some of their earlier stuff: low down, pww, heartbreakin man & honest man.  dondonate would've been nice too but, honestly, i wouldn't trade mpp for any of the others.  sure, there was that bastard curfew and all but the set they threw down was out of control!  like tdb said: how did they not stroke out after that???

Very impressive, Kyle!  Looks like something I would do.

I've previously expressed dismay at the lack of variety in the first three shows, though I wouldn't trade that week for anything.

Because of the above sentiment, Where To Begin was the setlist highlight of my 3-show run.  Opening with OBH, while repeated at each show, was cool.  Hearing Wonderful (TWIF) done by the whole of MMJ was sweet.  Also a highlight was Losin' Yo Head (twice!), which I always felt was the best-fit MoF song for MMJ.

The new songs grew on me, as I heard Friends Again at all three shows.  Carried Away in Nashville was a top-5 highlight of that night.

In terms of what I missed from the B'ham-N'ville-Hotlanta run, here's my list:

At Dawn (lucky Carolinians!)
Tonight IWTCWY (an Omnichord song!)
What A Wonderful Man
Librarian (they didn't play it in Boston '08 either)
Steam Engine (my biggest disappointment, especially when it appeared in 4 of the remaining 6 shows after my 3)
His Masters Voice (for Yim's masterful voice)
Dancefloors (when ya got horns, ya need Dancefloors,no?  like Steam Engine, played at 4 of the 6 remaining shows after my 3)
Phone Went West (no explanation necessary)
Sooner (more 'chord, er, I mean laser harp, please!)
Bermuda Highway
Masterplan
War Begun

I could go on, but I don't want to seem selfish.  However, I will note (as no surprise to forum members) that this is my 600th post!  Perhaps I should get back to work, eh?

Nice summary.  Thanks.

They have too many good songs.  But my list of faves not played:

Just One Thing
Masterplan
Bermuda Highway
Remnants

That was even rare on the EU tour...Nice to see some appreciation (which is more rare than them playing it!) for it!!

Remnants blows.
God damn those shaky knees.

I didn't know why it was rare for the EU tour.  Clearly it doesn't seem to be a favorite (and maybe not the band's favorite).  I think it rocks and love that song.... the guitar, Jim's little scream, it's all good.

Agreed - thanks.
ps. for what it's worth, not a fan of Remnants either.   But, I keep giving it a chance to grow on me!

pps. strikes me as odd as I saw more old MMJ tunes at a MOF show than a MMJ show!!

Ruckus

Great thread man!  Yeah JYY, after my 3 show trek, I got a good "damn I wish I heard that list."  I feel for ya though because they really did stretch it out right after Hotlanta.

They would include for sure, Where to Begin, Friends Again and Master's Voice.  I was indifferent towards MOF tunes but that was one I would've loved to have heard.

And I LOVE REMNANTS!

I went to the Birmingham and Nashville shows and I was very happy eith the setlists, but after looking at setlists for the other shows so far on the tour I would have to say that Charleston's setlist is my favorite. I mean At dawn, Steam engine, Librarian, and dancefloors!!!!!!!!!!! I am really hoping the play, the bear, phone went west, Cobra, or masterplan before the tour is over.
