Hello All. Im a long time looker on and a first time poster here.. I've always enjoyed reading people's opinions and experiences on MMJ! I'm a relative newbie- I was at Bonnarroo '08 during that pic concert but unfortunately missed it (don't wanna talk about it).  After hearing about the show, I knew I had to start listening to these guys and like most of you I was instantly hooked.  I bought tix to the MSG show and showed up in the first 25 people to make it to the front railing in front of the stage (we had GA tix).  Unreal.  So I was hooked- hit up a MoF show in the city, went to meriweather for another sick concert.  Went to Woodstock last night for another unforgettable night.  The venue hold maybe 5 600 people tops- there were about 300 there last night by my estimation.  Very small, cool, intimate venue.  The boys were really awesome last night.  Jim told a few very funny stories, including one use an esophugus (sp?) as a metaphor for mountain top removal, as only Jim could.  Haha he also kept saying the drummer (Dan Dorff) was using military grade equipment and stated that all technology starts in the military like the internet and can openers.  Anyways to the show- they were great I really liked Ben he sounds a lot like Jack Johnson.  Crowd was very boisterous and interactive especially when Jim started showing off his stuff. As far as mmj songs go, they played golden, where to begin (my first time hearing it and one of my favs!), smokin from shootin, wonderful, look at you, and a sick sick version of gideon (the cello really put it over the top). After the show I booked my ass up to the stage and was able to grab Daniel's setlist before people from the venue started yelling to give it back so I ran! i was able to re-enter and waited around to meet Jim.  I stood there for a half hour bs'ing till someone said he'd been at the bar for 20 mins wearing sweatpants and a beanie.  I approached him and waited for a sec as he was blanketed by 4 girls at the bar.  When he turned i told him that I really loved his music and looked forward to seeing him at Newport! He repleid, "right on man we'll see ya soon" with a wry smile.  Definitely a highlight moment for me!!  If someone can tell me how to post pics on here cuz i got a sweet upclose pic of Jim's omnichord and I can post a pic of the setlist.  Sorry for being so long-winded but I'm still buzzin from last night!!

thanks fuzz!   You have to host the pic somewhere that will give you an http: location.  Like photobucket or something like that. Then you just cut and paste the http link, highlight it, and click the button up there ^ that looks like a painting in a frame.
I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

Might wanna hold off on the omnichord pic.  Don't want jYY's keyboard keys to get stuck.   ;)

I'm curious what model he's using these days.  I might bring my 84 to Newport tomorrow.  Maybe I can get Yim to sign it!

Anyone catch Simone Felice as the opening act? I believe he was supposed to play a short acoustic set. Would love to hear thoughts about his set if anyone caught it (if he definitely played).

I caught Simone Felice. He played about 40 minutes...great little set. Mostly The Duke and the King stuff and a few new tunes he has written.  The highlight was a cover of "Shower the People"
